EXTERIOR
Traction control system, smooth responsive handling, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, remote keyless entry, full size spare tire, power passenger side mirror -those are just some of the features that make Silverado the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickups on the road. INTERIOR
Available heated, leather-appointed front seats, MP3 playback(19), SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio, driver lumbar support, 60/40 bench seats, and cruise control are some of the creature comforts you'll find inside Silverado. Some are standard, some are optional - all are part of the Silverado experience.
PERFORMANCE
Every proven Vortec V8 engine available on Silverado is capable of generating over 300 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft. of torque. Or step up to the available Vortec 6.2L V8 that generates 403 horses and 417 lb.-ft. of torque.Not surprisingly, all that power is complemented by a lot of payload capability: 1,980 lbs. (7) for Crew Cab and 1,925 lbs. (7) for Extended Cab models with the available MAX Trailering Pack.
The available Vortec 5.3L V8 offers an impressive combination of 315 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque and an EPA estimated 21 MPG highway, 15 city when running on gasoline - fuel economy no competitive V8 full-size pickup can beat.(8)
Hydro-formed front frame allows for fewer welds, which provide:
- Clean attachment points
- Better fit to frame
- Immense overall frame strength and durability

Strong rear frame design boosts payload capacity without adding unnecessary mass.
Every non-hybrid V8 engine available on Silverado 1500 can operate on E85.

Coil-over-shock front suspension and a wide front track provide great on-center feel, smooth out minor road irregularities, and supply excellent handling and stability. Durable, fade-resistant front and rear shocks supply an unexpectedly smooth and controlled ride.
With the available MAX Trailering Pack, Silverado can haul just about
whatever it takes to get the job done:
- Crew Cab: 1,980 lbs. of payload (7)
- Extended Cab: 1,925 lbs. of payload (7)

With the available MAX Trailering Pack, Extended Cab models can tow 10,700 lbs. (4) and Crew Cab models can pull 10,600 lbs. (4) The package includes:

- Z71 Off-Road suspension
- 46mm twin-tube high-pressure gas-charged shocks

- Available Z71 Appearance Package: 18" aluminum wheels, body-color mirrors and door handles, body-color grille with chrome insert, and Rancho® shocks
Tow/Haul Mode enhances performance while pulling a trailer or hauling heavy loads. When activated, this feature modified the automatic transmission shift schedule and helps reduce throttle pedal activity by the driver while traveling over rolling terrain.
- XFE offers better V8 fuel economy than Ford F-150, Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra (8) - an EPA estimated 15 MPG city, 22 highway
- The available Vortec 5.3L V8 engine helps Silverado offer 21 MPG highway
- Silverado Hybrid (21)- America's first Two-Mode Hybrid full-size pickup - offers an EPA estimated 20 MPG city, 23 highway
When rear-wheel slippage occurs at lower speeds, the available GM-segment exclusive automatic locking rear differential allows additional traction on snow, mud and ice, or even on a wet boat ramp.

Chevrolet Wi-Fi by Autonet Mobile (12) turns Silverado into a mobile hotspot:

SILVERADO SAFETY
- The control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual brake applications to help you keep on track
- It automatically intervenes when it senses understeer (plowing), oversteer (fishtailing) or loss of lateral traction
- Driver and right-front passenger frontal
- Head-curtain side-impact for outboard seating positions
- Front-seat mounted for thorax and pelvic protection

- The safety cage is designed to help preserve occupant space in the event of a collision
- Crush zones, located in the front body structure, are designed for a "progressive crush" during a frontal crash. This design absorbs and channels crash energy in a controlled manner
- Monitors the inflation level in each of the four road tires. The Driver Information Center (DIC) then displays the readout of each tire's pressure (excludes spare tire)
- If any tire falls below a specified pressure, the driver is immediately alerted via a message in the DIC
