The Vortec 5.3L V8 engine delivers 320 hp and 335 lb.-ft of torque and gives 2WD model trailering power up to 8,500 lbs.(6) - more than the Toyota Sequoia.
Engineers were able to get an efficient air-to-fuel mix by creating a "vortex" in the combustion chamber - achieving impressive horsepower without sacrificing fuel efficiency. With that in mind, it's no surprise Tahoe has better fuel economy than any competitor.(4,5)
