All-Around Aerodynamics

Tahoe Hybrid id engineered to make your trek as efficient as possible. The
18" 12-spoke aluminum wheels not only make for lightweight travel but also
for efficient airflow. The fascia's lower air dam and assist steps' integrated
spats further improve airflow around the sides of the vehicle.

Efficient Design

Aside from its sleek appearance, Tahoe Hybrid was designed for efficiency.
The sharp crisp lines running along the rear exterior reduces drag, allowing
the air to run freely off the vehicle, improving fuel economy. Lightweight
aluminum in the hood, liftgate and wheels helps offset the weight of the

Capability

Unrivaled economy, full-size power

The brain of the Tahoe Hybrid is a control module—the hybrid operating system—that monitors the drive system hundreds of times a second. In stop-and-go conditions, the hybrid operating system employs gas or electric power—or a mixture of both—and can turn the gas engine off when moving less than 30 mph. When you need to tow a heavy load, the transmission shifts to one of the fixed gears and uses the power of the V8.

Regenerative Braking

Regenerative braking captures energy that would otherwise be expended by braking friction. By using one or both of the electronically variable transmissions tractive motors as a generator, braking energy is converted to electrical energy and stored in the battery for future use.
