Designed by You, to Work as Hard as You Do

At work, your van is one of the most important tools you have. Express Cargo Vans are built to be strong, capable and dependable. You won’t compromise on the job, so we don’t either. With plenty of cargo room — designed with your needs in mind — you can carry every piece of equipment you need to get the job done. And it’s nice to know you’re carrying a 100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty/5-year with you everywhere you go.

With a wide range of packages and options for everything from the powertrain to the latest navigation touch-screen, you can build your Express to fit every job. Express offers alternative fuel options to further the versatility of your van. Choose FlexFuel and fill up with either E85 or gasoline. If you need a little more power, opt for the available Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8, which is B20 compatible — and the most powerful diesel in its class. There is also the environmentally conscious Vortec 6.0L V8 Compressed Natural Gas system available in either a 3-tank or 4-tank configuration based on your driving range requirements.

If your job is more about hauling people, Express Passenger Van offers space and flexibility with 8-, 12- and 15-passenger seating configurations. Passenger models come packaged with available interior and exterior customizations — which makes Express the right van for the job.

A Versatile Exterior — Standard

Express is completely customizable on the outside — windows for everyone while still delivering complete access to all of your tools. Top it off with rooftop storage for ladders or whatever you decide to stow up there. No matter what you’re looking for in a van, Express has various available equipment packages to make your job easier.

Available Access Packages

Getting to your tools is the easiest part of your job, or should be at least. Each Access Package includes three exterior, remote-release, side-access panels that can be opened with keyless entry. They can even be opened with the ladder rack installed. This package is not available with the driver-side 60/40 swing-out doors or sliding passenger door.

Maximize Cargo — Minimize Hassle

The dealer-installed Roof Rack Package lets you add carrying capacity up top. Add the Roof-Mounted Swing-Out Ladder Rack Package for improved access to all of your stored items, and make removing those cumbersome ladders a distant memory. Both are designed and engineered to perfectly fit your Express.

Room for All

No matter what you’re hauling — people, tools or supplies — there’s an Express for you. Seating for 12 is standard on 3500 and seating for 15 is available when you opt for the extended wheelbase. Passenger doors and rear swing-out doors come standard for easy loading, unloading, exit or entry. Combine this with available comfort options for driver and all passengers — Express is a van ideal to accommodate your needs.

Interior Amenities

You’re carrying important cargo, that’s why Express Passenger Vans offer spacious comfort for you and all of your passengers. Power windows and rear passenger air conditioning are standard on all LT models and available on LS. Pass-through rear seats on 2500 and 3500 vans give you plenty of room for simple entry and exit without sacrificing seating. The available touch-screen navigation radio assures you get where you’re going, no matter where the job is.

Cargo Capacity

1500, 2500 and 3500 regular Cargo Vans have 239.7 cu. ft. of maximum cargo space, while 2500 and 3500 extended wheelbase models have a massive 284.4 cu. ft. and a GVWR of 9,600 lbs. That’s room for every tool you’ll need to get the job done.

Capable Of Anything

Strong and Efficient

Express Cargo Van offers an unmatched selection of engines, ranging from the fuel conscious Vortec 4.3L V6 with an EPA-estimated 20 MPG highway to our formidable lineup of VortecTM V8 workhorses — all the way up to the Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8, the most powerful diesel in its class.

Express Cargo Van also gives drivers the latest alternative fuel options including B20 BioDiesel, E85 FlexFuel and even a compressed natural gas (CNG) system. No matter what the job, there’s an Express Cargo Van to meet your business needs.

Available features include an automatic locking rear differential on all models and GM segment-exclusive All-Wheel Drive (AWD) on 1500.

Hydra-Matic Transmission

The standard Hydra-Matic® 6-speed automatic transmission on all 2500 and 3500 models includes Tap-Up/Tap-Down Driver Shift Control and auto grade braking to automatically slow the vehicle using the engine.

Haul it All

Innovative Tow/Haul mode gives the automatic transmission a dual-mode shift program. This feature raises upshift points to use more of the engine’s power for strong acceleration and raises downshift points to help slow your van using engine braking.

Technology In Your Hands

Fully Load it, or Keep it Basic

It’s easy to expect a lot from your full-size van when it’s an Express. Express comes with technologically advanced features to make life easier, while remaining the hard working. The standard Driver Information Center includes easy-to-read displays that relay vital information from under the hood to the driver. Express also includes OnStar®†, standard on Passenger Vans for the first six months.

We wanted to make Express even more convenient for you whether you’re at a remote work site or just out of town. That’s why Express introduced the available Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi, which turns your van and up to 150 ft of the surrounding area into a mobile hotspot.

The rear vision camera displays items behind the vehicle. You can also opt for available Rear Park Assist, which will alert you to objects behind the vehicle when travelling at low speeds.

Wireless Technology

Take calls at the touch of a button. Available Bluetooth® wireless technology for select phones lets you make, answer and end phone calls with a tap of the steering wheel. It even mutes the stereo to take your calls.

Satellite Radio

Get three trial months of commercial-free music from SiriusXM Satellite Radio from coast to coast. See channel listings and more info.

Turn-by-Turn Navigation

Put wrong turns behind you with OnStar® Turn-by-Turn Navigation, standard on Passenger Van models for the first six months. Get upcoming turns and street names displayed on the Driver Information Center or hear them through the speakers.

Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi

There are plenty of times you wish you could get online when you’re on the jobsite. You need to order a part or verify something and your phone just isn’t working for you. That’s why Chevy introduced Autonet Mobile Wi-Fi, which turns the 150-foot area surrounding your van into a mobile hotspot so you can get online and get the job done.

Touch-Screen Navigation Radio

The new-to-Express touch-screen navigation radio will make getting lost a thing of the past. Forget looking for directions on your phone or trying to find all the wires and charger for your GPS. Simply enter the desired address and let the touch-screen navigation radio do the rest — you’ll love the easy-to-read and even easier-to-follow directions.

Rear Park Assist

We wanted to make backing up a little easier — and a lot safer — so we introduced the available Rear Park Assist with the option for a rear vision camera. With hazards in view as well as the environment behind the van, difficult backing up will be a thing of the past, just like getting lost.

All Cargo is Precious

Advanced engineering and safety technology like the StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System work in harmony to help prevent collisions — and help protect you if you’re in one. Express offers optimal safety before, during and after a collision.

Express 1500 Passenger Van and Cargo Van offer available All-Wheel Drive to provide a more sure-footed drive in inclement weather. Working in conjunction with StabiliTrak, the Trailer Sway Control feature helps you stay on track. Auto grade braking, standard on Express 6-speed heavy-duty transmission models, automatically downshifts to help slow the truck when you apply the brakes while descending long, steep grades.

Express Passenger Vans and 1500 Cargo Vans come standard with head-curtain side-impact air bags. These airbags are available on 2500 and 3500 Cargo Van.

OnStar® Automatic Crash Response, standard for six months on Passenger Vans and available on Cargo vans, means you’re automatically connected to emergency assistance if an accident occurs — whether or not the air bags deploy.

How Sustainable is the Express?

Check out its “Ecologic” Features. Here at Chevrolet, we believe in being a responsible steward of our environment. Recently, we’ve developed a new way to communicate some of the environmentally significant features of each vehicle we make. We call it “Ecologic.”

Every aspect of Ecologic is audited by Two Tomorrows, an independent third party sustainability auditor. To learn more about Ecologic and the Two Tomorrows’ process, click here.

Fuel-Saving Technologies

Engines have been factory-filled with engine oil meeting GM’s new dexos™ specification, which has improved viscosity characteristics as compared to the previous GF-4 oil, contributing to better fuel economy.

On the 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L V8 engines, Continuously Variable Valve Timing (VVT) adjusts airflow in and out of the combustion chamber under all engine speeds, which makes for better fuel economy and lower emissions. On the 6.6L Diesel V8 engine, the 29,000 psi piezo-actuated common-rail fuel-injection system uses minimal hydraulic control energy, to maximize fuel economy.

An electronically controlled six-speed transmission allows the engine to operate at a lower rate of speed as compared to transmissions with fewer gears, which results in better fuel economy (4.8L and 6.0L engines only).

Responsible Manufacturing

The transmission facilities are landfill-free. These facilities use a process to reuse, recycle or convert to energy all waste created in their daily operations, which conserves resources.

The Romulus, MI, engine facility and Toledo, OH, transmission facility feature designated habitat areas certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council, which provide ecological benefits.

End-of-Life Recyclability

After the vehicle’s useful life, 85% of it is recyclable. The majority of its components can be broken down and recycled, which conserves resources and reduces landfill deposits.
