BIOGRAPHY
Ron Hornaday raced karts and motorcycles before beginning his stock car career driving modifieds in California.
He won Featherlite Southwest Series titles in 1992 and 1993. The 1994 season saw him finish second in the NASCAR® Winston West Series standings and be voted most popular driver.
In 1995, Hornaday became the first driver hired at Dale Earnhardt Inc. after Earnhardt watched him dominate the NASCAR Winter Heat series. He quickly made an impression, finishing fifth in the series standings.
Hornaday won the first of his two NASCAR Craftsman™ Truck Series (NCTS) titles in 1996, dominating with four wins and 24 top-10 finishes in 25 events. He repeated as champion in 1998. And before leaving for the NASCAR Busch Series in 1999, Hornaday claimed 26 career victories — the most of any NCTS driver.
Hornaday enjoyed two successful seasons in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2003 and 2004, finishing third and fourth in the points, respectively. And now the two-time NCTS champion returns to the NCTS full-time for 2005. You'll find him behind the wheel of the No. 33 Kevin Harvick, Inc. Silverado and out front leading the pack.
