A former Top Alcohol Funny Car national champion (1996) and five-time Southeast Division TAFC champion (1992-94, 1996, 1999), Tony Bartone made his professional debut at the 2001 NHRA Winternationals. In 2003, the New York native climbed back into an alcohol car, won three national events in a TAD and finished third in the national points standings. Although Bartone has never won a race as a nitro Funny Car driver, he has captured a combined 25 career victories in both TAD and TAFC. Bartone has been the driver of the Jim Dunn Racing Chevy Monte Carlo since the 2003 NHRA Finals at Pomona, and last season, he reached his first nitro Funny Car final round at the SummitRacing.com Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bartone also posted career bests in elapsed time and speed at the September meet in Chicago.
