After capturing six national events, 43 round wins and the 1992 NHRA Funny Car championship during his rookie season, Cruz Pedregon roared back the following four years (1993-96) with three third-place and a second-place finish in the points standings. In 1995, Pedregon captured five wins in seven final rounds, and in 1998 he won four races, competed in five final rounds and was No. 1 qualifier 12 times. Pedregon has won more than one race in five different years and has finished in the top 10 of the points standings nine times. Last year the California native advanced to the final round at Houston, was No. 1 qualifier at Englishtown and posted a career-best e.t. and speed en route to the No. 1 qualifying position at the September Chicago meet. Pedregon is a three-time winner of the U.S. Nationals (1992, 1994-95). This will be Pedregon's 14th season as a professional Funny Car driver.

CAREER

  • Stared NHRA career in Alcohol Dragster in 1987 and moved to Alcohol Funny Car in 1990.
