Del Worsham rolled to his eighth consecutive top 10 Funny Car points finish in 2005 after scoring a pair of victories at Englishtown and Indianapolis. Worsham also won the $100,000 Skoal Showdown for Funny Cars at Indianapolis which added some extra cash to his Labor Day payoff, and his eighth place year-end finish was the ninth time in the last 10 season that the Checker Schuck's Kragen Chevrolet driver had recorded a top-10 finish. Worsham's best season as a Funny Car driver was in 2004 when he captured five national-event victories, advanced to six final rounds and finished second in the points standings. He also posted a pair of third-place points finishes in 2001 and 2002.
CAREER
- Made professional debut at 1990 NHRA Finals at Pomona (Calif.).
- Named 1991 NHRA Rookie of the Year and became the youngest driver, at age 21, to win a Funny Car event.
