Automatic locking rear differential

Available on 2WD and included on 4x4 models, the locking rear differential helps your wheels rotate simultaneously at the same speed regardless of the road surface to provide balanced torque and maximum traction control – especially important in off-road situations where terrain and obstacles come into play. The same system automatically unlocks when there is no need for the torque to be applied, such as while cornering, when the wheels need to turn independently. Maximum control with enhanced efficiency is the mark of the 2012 Colorado.

Requires 4-speed automatic transmission. Available on Work Truck and 2WD 1LT. It is standard on 4WD 1LT and all 2LT and 3LT models.
