10 air bags

For your safety, Cruze™ comes standard with 10 air bags. These include frontal and knee air bags1 for front seat passengers and side-impact seat-mounted air bags1 for the driver, front passenger and outboard rear seat passengers. The front passenger air bag includes a Passenger Sensing System1 that automatically switches the right-front passenger frontal air bag on or off based on the passenger's weight and the type of pressure on the seat. You can determine whether the passenger air bag is on or off by looking at the air bag status indicator on the overhead console when starting your vehicle. Even with this innovative feature, you should always wear your safety belts.

Also included are roof rail air bags designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and rear seat outboard occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. In a collision with sufficient side-impact forces, an inflatable curtain deploys inside the vehicle on the side that has been struck. The curtain module is in the roof rail above the side windows.

1 Always use safety belts and child restraints. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate child restraint. See the Owner's Manual for more information.
