The aluminum-framed Z06 with carbon-fiber components throughout is the lightest and most balanced 2013 Corvette. Z06 has stunned competitors on and off the track since its return. We race to win, but also to build powerful and efficient vehicles. But we’re not going to lie — winning feels good.
Corvette Z06 is powered by a 7.0-Liter V8 engine, hand-built by skilled craftsmen at GM’s Performance Build Center in Michigan† When it comes to performance, no amount of attention is too great and no detail is overlooked. That’s why Z06 offers available Michelin PS® Cup tires, an available carbon-fiber domed hood and Magnetic Selective Ride ControlTM with Performance Traction Management (PTM).
Everything we learn on the track is applied, because if it makes it a better race car, it makes it a better sports car, period. That’s just how we think.
To mark this milestone in the Corvette story, the available Corvette 60th Anniversary appearance package will be available on all 2013 Corvette models. Showcased here on the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible, this package boasts an Arctic White exterior and a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with sueded-microfiber accents. The optional graphics package adds a classic track-ready appearance with full-length racing stripes in Pearl Silver Blue.
The stripes run the full length of the vehicle, including on the interior in convertible models. The convertible top even continues the appearance with stitched stripes. The package also includes gray-painted brake calipers, a ZR1 rear spoiler and 60th Anniversary badging on the wheel center caps, steering wheel and seat head restraints to give a finishing touch to this sleek and distinctive appearance.
When a luxury sports car is capable of a test-track top speed of 198 mph, it better have impressive brakes as well. Z06 uses monoblock 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers, while the extra-large 14-inch front rotors and 13.4-inch rear rotors are vented and cross drilled. And launch control is standard with the short-throw 6-speed manual gearbox. It modulates engine rpm to lay the power down more smoothly while providing consistent acceleration times on the test track. Brembo® Carbon Ceramic Brakes — a braking system that helps with performance, weight and corrosion resistance — along with the Michelin® Pilot® Cup Tires, that offer 8% more grip than the standard tires, are also available as part of the Z07 Performance Package.

Z06 is powered by a 7.0-Liter (427 ci) LS7 aluminum-block V8 with an 11.0:1 compression ratio, each of which is handcrafted by our own skilled engine craftsmen at the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan†. It delivers an SAE-certified 505 hp at 6300 rpm and 470 lb.-ft. of torque at 4800 rpm. The engine employs lightweight titanium intake valves and connecting rods, and contains a high-performance dry-sump oil system, which distributes pressurized oil to protect vital components under high-g driving conditions. And thanks to a litany of racing-derived components, Z06 weighs in at 3,199 lbs. curb and 3,041 lbs. dry, making it the lightest of the 2013 Corvette models.
Driving is collaboration between man and vehicle, and now with more extensive performance options available, you can construct the perfect Z06 to complement your driving style. The F55 Package includes Magnetic Selective Ride Control™ including Performance Traction Management (PTM), Michelin PS2 tires and black cup-style wheels. You can upgrade from there to the available Z07 Performance Package including all of the F55 Package elements along with Brembo® Carbon Ceramic Brakes and the Michelin PS Cup tires. Top it all off with the available carbon-fiber hood and Carbon Fiber Package option — which includes roof, splitter and rockers — to make your Z06 that much lighter and performance ready.

The available Magnetic Selective Ride Control™ stiffens suspension capability for
twisty roads while providing a more compliant ride for city driving and freeways.
Here's how it works. An electromagnetic coil resides inside each damper piston.
When an electrical current is applied – variably controlled by a microprocessor
– ferrous particles in the shock fluid instantly bond, making the fluid more flow
resistant, effectively stiffening the shock's damping. Conversely, when the
electromagnetic field is reduced, the fluid flows more freely, allowing easier
suspension movement. There are two cockpit settings: Tour and Sport.
Rounded fenders and a lean, grounded body frame are classic Corvette design elements that have been the foundation of its exterior design for 60 years. It’s what makes a Corvette unmistakable and irresistible. Honor the Corvette heritage with the 60th Anniversary Design Package, which boasts an Arctic White exterior and a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with sueded-microfiber accents.
Paired with its aluminum frame, the Z06 available carbon-fiber elements and options make this the lightest of all Corvettes. Carbon-fiber fenders and floors are standard in every Z06, yet you can eliminate even more weight and give it a sleek, race-ready appearance with the available carbon-fiber roof, splitter, rockers and hood. Combined, they make for an outstanding power-to-weight ratio and agile performance and handling.
Individuality is a trademark of both Corvette and Corvette owners.
And now more than ever, owners can personalize their 2013

can make your Z06 truly one of a kind.

The Z06 interior has been refined for greater driving support and comfort. The seats were completely redesigned last year and the design includes large bolsters on the seatback and cushion areas for support, especially in high-performance driving, but greatly welcomed for day-to-day driving. Optional microfiber seat inserts complement the new design even further, as does the steering wheel which features model-specific badging, streamlined switch trim, wrapped spokes, better hand placement and thumb grips.
No detail was overlooked in order to create the most luxurious Corvette interior to date. Padded center console and armrests on all models soften the interior, while the added visual touch of contrasting color stitching — in red, blue and yellow — is available with the Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package on the 3LZ trim level.

We do it not only to win, but also to build better Corvettes and other Chevrolet vehicles. Racing with and against the best drivers and engineers in the world pushes us further with new discoveries along the way that are applied to the entire Chevrolet lineup. And when it comes to technology transfer between racing and production, there is no better example than the C6. R race car and its streetcar counterpart, the ZR1.
This technology transfer represents the strongest link yet between a production Corvette and the modern Corvette Racing team. The hydroformed aluminum frame, bodywork, and aero package are derived from the Corvette ZR1 supercar. The engine is a based on the Corvette Z06′s 7.0-liter naturally aspirated, all-aluminum small-block, reduced to 5.5 liters displacement in accordance with the GT regulations.

Corvette can be found in some of the most legendary races around the world ranging from American Le Mans Series based in the United States and Canada to the 24 Heures du Mans in France. It’s cultivated and tested on some of the world’s most legendary tracks, including the infamous Nürburgring – the ultimate validation for any car. Active Handling and four-wheel antilock brakes help you stay on the road and in control to help avoid crashes in the first place, while standard xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps shed 900 lumens of light onto the road for excellent visibility. And if there’s ever a loss of tire pressure, the run-flat tires help enable safe function for some distance at a moderate speed until the tire can be repaired.
OnStar® with Directions & Connections® and Automatic Crash Response† uses built-in sensors that can automatically alert an Advisor, who is immediately connected into your vehicle and can request emergency help be sent to your exact GPS location — even if you’re unable to respond. Standard for the first six months.

Low-mass materials, such as an aluminum cockpit structure, lightweight composite body panels, balsa wood floor panel and an aluminum engine block and cylinder head, reduce engine workload and contribute to better fuel economy.
A six-speed transmission allows the engine to operate at a lower rate of speed as compared to transmissions with fewer gears, which results in better fuel economy. Transmissions employ shift management technologies when maximum engine power is not required. When these technologies engage, engine workload is reduced, which contributes to better fuel economy. Manual transmission has skip shift technology (1st to 4th). Automatic transmission has 2nd gear start.
The engine has been factory-filled with engine oil meeting GM's new dexos™ specification, which has improved viscosity characteristics as compared to the previous GF-4 oil, contributing to better fuel economy.
The engine facilities are landfill-free. These facilities use a process to reuse, recycle or convert to energy all waste created in their daily operations, which conserves resources. Some water and engine-air deflectors are manufactured with more than 99% recycled content, which includes used tires. Recycled material conserves resources and reduces landfill deposits.
The Toledo, OH, transmission facility (automatic transmission only) features a designated habitat area certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council, which provides ecological benefits. The Bowling Green, KY, assembly plant features solar charging canopies on the grounds, which conserves resources and lessens dependence on fossil fuels.
Landfill gas supplies 16% of the energy to heat and cool the Toledo, OH, transmission facility (automatic transmission only), which makes the facility less reliant on fossil fuels.
After the vehicle’s useful life, 85% of it is recyclable. The majority of its components can be broken down and recycled, which conserves resources and reduces landfill deposits.
