The capability of Corvette ZR1 (very limited availability) comes from more than just its 6.2L 638-hp LS9 supercharged V8 engine. Equally signifcant is a power-to-weight ratio of 5.2 pounds per horsepower, thanks to an aluminum-frame, magnesium fixed-roof structure, visible carbon-fiber body components and carbon ceramic brakes.

If you're seeking a machine that looks like it belongs on the GT racing circuit, you'll appreciate the visible carbon-fiber components of the Corvette ZR1 (very limited availability). These include rocker extensions, front splitter, roof and roof bow. Besides contributing to the low power-to-weight ratio of the ZR1, several of these pieces also help generate better high-speed stability.

Massive stopping power. That's what you get with the standard ZR1 (very limited availability) Brembo® brakes. They feature carbon ceramic rotors that weigh almost 50 percent less than equivalent cast-iron units. The system employs six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers engaging vented, cross-drilled rotors.

WHAT WINNING ITS CLASS AT LE MANS SIX OUT OF 10 YEARS MEANS FOR YOU.
Tech transfer. It's a term that means how experience in one area carries over to another. The Corvette has competed internationally for the past 10 years against some of the most renowned sports car marques in the world — Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lamborghini among others. That experience has helped make the Corvette stronger, lighter, faster and more aerodynamic. It has led to carbon-fiber body pieces, carbon ceramic brakes on the ZR1 (very limited availability) and the 7.0L LS7 V8 engine on the Z06. So when you see a Corvette on the track, don't assume it's just a marketing exercise. It could be one of the better tech transfer stories in the business.

SAFETY IS JUST PART OF WHAT ONSTAR CAN DO.
When most people think of OnStar®(1), they think first of safety. But it's more than that. OnStar also offers Vehicle Diagnostic Reports(2) and Remote Door Unlock(3). In certain types of collisions, Automatic Crash Response(4) will alert an OnStar Advisor for you. They can send help to your exact GPS location, even if you're unable to respond. It's all standard with the OnStar Safe & Sound® Plan, which is standard for the first year.

Read About Corvette

Some lead, some follow. Corvette has written its own formula as an American original since 1953. Corvette coupe, convertible, Z06 and ZR1 (very limited availability) have steadily grown in stature amid the world hierarchy of quality performance automobiles. Now, a new model joins the stable for 2010 — the Grand Sport. Available in a wide-body coupe or convertible, the NEW Grand Sport offers many of the racing-developed technologies of the Z06, including six-piston front brakes and a dry-sump oil system on manual transmission coupe models. It is powered by the 430-hp LS3 V8 (available dual-mode exhaust versions produce 436 hp). Exterior features include flared fenders, unique front fender vents, special Grand Sport five-spoke aluminum wheels and an optional Grand Sport Heritage Package, available to order on select models. All 2010 Corvette models are backed by the best coverage in America: the Chevy 100,000 mile/5-year1 transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty plus Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation Programs. It all adds up to a formula that is unmistakably Corvette.
