The widest tires ever offered on a Corvette: the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMTs (standard on Z06), 275/35ZR-18 (front) and 325/30ZR-19 (rear). They're speed-rated to 205 mph on the test track (Z06 has a test-track top speed of 198 mph).
The 2008 Corvette offers a new standard five split-spoke wheel design for coupe and convertible. Coupe and convertible wheel choices include standard split-spoke Painted Aluminum and available five-spoke forged Polished Aluminum, original design five-spoke Chrome Aluminum and five split-spoke Competition Gray. These same wheel finishes are also available for the Z06 in a ten-spoke wheel design.

The 6.2 Liter all-aluminum LS3 V8 is the latest version of the famed GM small block. It produces 430 hp at 5900 rpm and 424 lb.-ft. of torque at 4600 rpm; and with the new available dual-mode exhaust system, it produces 436 hp and 428 lb.-ft. of torque.
Hand-built by the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich., the LS7 engine contains a litany of racing-derived components. Its forged-steel crankshaft has six-bolt main bearings, while a high-profile cam offers the largest lift ever on a production GM small block V8.

A dry-sump oil system, exclusive to Z06, prevents oil starvation on high-g corners or during heavy braking.
Z06 achieves a power-to-weight ratio of 6.3 pounds per hp, superior to many exotic cars like the Ferrari F430 and Porsche GT3 RS(1), in part because of its lightweight yet strong aluminum frame combined with a magnesium roof structure and engine cradle. The aluminum body structure weighs only 278 pounds, 136 pounds less than the Corvette coupe. The structure includes full-length aluminum hydroformed rails to provide exceptional strength and dimensional accuracy.

A Six-Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes, available on coupe and convertible. It now has new hardware and software to offer even faster shifts for total driver involvement with an automatic transmission.
The standard six-speed manual transmission offers triple- and double-cone synchronizers, including reverse, and a light-action clutch for an even lighter shifting effort than previous versions. New for 2008: a new, richer-looking standard console trim plate in a Cyber pattern.
Magnetic Selective Ride Control, an available, real-time, cockpit-adjustable ride-control system, adjusts ride damping by means of electromagnetically charged particles contained within the shock fluid. Not available on Z06 or models equipped with the available Z51 Performance Package.
Standard dual-zone automatic climate control allows both the driver and passenger to select their own temperature settings.
NEW for 2008: a redesigned electronic keyless access transmitter with an integrated key that conveniently fits into a pocket or purse.
