Through The Year-End Sales Event, Toys for Tots and Cell Phones for Soldiers
As the year comes to a close, Chevy is igniting the spirit of giving. In addition to the Year-End Sales Event, Chevy is also bringing light to initiatives that give back in other ways by sponsoring Toys for Tots and Cell Phones for Soldiers.
Through Toys for Tots, Chevy has teamed up with the U.S. Marine Corps to bring joy and compassion to less fortunate children by providing them with new toys for Christmas. Despite ongoing economic setbacks in 2011, Toys for Tots was able to persevere by pulling in its greatest revenue ever at $252 million while delivering 16 million toys to more than 7 million children. This year, Chevy will be doing their part by providing collection bins at participating dealerships. Cell Phones for Soldiers seeks to collect and recycle gently used cell phones, enabling more soldiers to hear the sounds of the their loved ones’ voices from far away. Since its creation in 2004, Cell Phones for Soldiers has provided 168 million minutes of total talk time. Since 2010, GM has donated 127,169 devices to the program, approximately equaling to 7,630,140 minutes of talk time for troops overseas. Through this measure, Chevy strives to show just how much it supports the nation’s soldiers and their sacrifice.
So whether it’s a new car, a new toy, or being able to connect with loved ones from afar, Chevy wishes to provide more people with the chance to enjoy the holidays.
