GRAND-AM Road Racing is one of the premiere road racing series in the United States — and Chevrolet is right there in the midst of the action with both Camaro and Corvette. The series is centered around the iconic Rolex 24 at Daytona endurance race, but also includes a variety of races held at some of the most notable road courses across the United States and Canada.
The GRAND-AM Rolex Series is composed of two classes: The Daytona Prototype category that features purpose-built sports cars and the GT category with production-style “touring” cars. Both classes compete on-track at the same time, providing fans with nonstop action. Two distinct classes of competition offer nail-biting finishes on historic and iconic race tracks.
Also under the GRAND-AM umbrella is the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge where Pro Am drivers compete in production-based touring cars.

Within the Rolex Series, the Daytona Prototype category attracts the most competitive racing teams and drivers, and brings out the latest and most advanced racing technology from the world’s premiere car companies. Last year, all eyes were on Chevrolet, as we introduced an all-new Corvette Daytona Prototype for the prestigious Rolex 24 race. This year, Team Chevy looks to reproduce the season that claimed the overall DP engine manufacturer’s championship.
“The opportunity for innovation is what makes the Daytona Prototype Class such a good fit for Chevrolet. Sports car and endurance racing is an outstanding platform for manufacturers like us to test and learn. The design of this race car incorporates iconic Corvette styling cues and will be immediately recognized by sports car enthusiasts and fans of GRAND-AM Road Racing,” says Mark Kent, Director Chevy Racing.

The Corvette Daytona Prototype race car made its competitive debut at the 2012 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. New this year to Team Chevy Rolex Sports Car Series is 8Star Motorsports in the No. 3 Corvette DP, joining the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP and the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP.

The Grand Touring (GT) class is purpose-built race cars. Cost containment and narrow competition have fueled the popularity and intrigue of GT racing as a level battlefield worthy of the top automotive manufacturers – and Chevrolet brings the powerful Camaro to the track.
The Chevrolet Camaro competes against top models of sports cars including Porsche GT3, BMW M3, Ford Mustang, Mercedes SLS and Audi R8. The rules for Grand Touring work toward equalization, limiting tire size, race car weight and engine rpm to fuel close competition and the excitement for every millisecond of lap time.

Competing under the Team Chevy banner are Stevenson Motorsports with the No. 57 and the No. 31 Marsh Racing Camaro GT.R.

The GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge features production-spec sports cars straight out of the showroom with only minor safety-related modifications. This Challenge Series features a Grand Sport (GS) class, where Camaro goes head-to-head with Porsche 997, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang.
The Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge has had many different names over its long and storied history. What has yet to change is the level of fierce competition marked by its quality drivers, top manufacturers, level playing field and fast-paced, exciting on-track battles.
Team Chevy is strongly represented by No. 00 CKS Motorsports Camaro GS.R, No. 01 CKS Motorsports GS.R, No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro GS.R.
GRAND-AM is a unique and exhilarating experience for any fan of racing and Chevrolet. After witnessing a single event you’ll know that Chevy is serious about sports car racing.
