5 ingenious apps that organize and promote Big-Picture thinking

As a 2014 Chevrolet Spark owner, you appreciate creativity. You love big ideas that come in small packages, and the opportunity to express your unique point of view. (Lemonade or Salsa Spark, anyone?) But how best to organize, encourage and keep track of all that brilliance?

Help is close at hand—thanks to these five ingenious apps. Just download BringGo*—the most affordable in-dash navigation system in its class—onto your smartphone, hook it up to your available Chevrolet MyLink Radio**, steer your Spark to your favorite creativity-inspiring destination and start making plans for world domination. If you want to share your blueprints before you even get back home, use Siri Eyes Free*** to email them without taking your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel.

This intuitive app empowers you to create an orderly and attractive mind map—a graphic that captures one big idea (say, “Our Vacation”) and organizes all the components that make up that big idea (such as “Hotels,” “Attractions,” “Restaurants” and “Plane Tickets”). It’s a great opportunity to name your ultimate goal and break it down into manageable clusters of tasks. You can also sync your finished product with iCloud or DropBox, or share a PDF via email.

Like MindNode, iBlueSky allows you to get the free association going on in your brain down on a piece of virtual paper and link similar objects together. The finished product in iBlueSky is a bit more organic than MindNode—think clusters of lily pads versus a subway map—making it perhaps better suited for creative (rather than linear) thinkers.

SketchPad HD

For those of us who like to map everything out, this app gives you the ability to hand-write notes and draw diagrams, sketches and doodles on your choice of background—white lined, yellow lined, white graph or blank white. Think of it as an electronic version of your most beloved notebook—one that can never get lost, and that you can share with friends and colleagues via email.

Gather, organize and geo-tag articles, webpages, images and notes you write yourself into an indexed file of awesomeness. Create and add to files for work projects, recipes, even songs you want to karaoke—it’s a terrific way to record those great ideas that come up at random times so they don’t get lost to the ether. Any updates you make automatically sync on all your devices, and your results are shareable so you can collaborate and communicate with ease.

Moodboard Pro

A moodboard captures all your various visual influences for a particular project in a single place. This app helps you assemble original photos plus images you find on the web into a work of art that captures the essence of a project or goal. It’s a curated snapshot of inspiration.
