Motor Trend writer Christian Seabaugh takes Spark EV for a powerful ride

Ever wonder if there was a car out there that had electric capabilities without sacrificing fun-to-drive power? Look no further. The 2014 Spark EV is the all-electric vehicle from Chevrolet, with a range of 82 miles when fully charged. It’s the perfect commuter car, so you can live outside the boundaries of bus schedules. But that’s not where it ends – not nearly.

Spark EV has 400 lb.-ft. of torque! Not to brag, but that’s more than Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche Carrera S. So when you’re feeling electric, and you want to get more fun out of your city miles, hop in and go from 0 to 60 mph in under 7.6 seconds (if the speed limit allows, of course).

Spark EV has been stirring up quite a bit of excitement as it was recently touted in the September issue of Motor Trend magazine. Author Christian Seabaugh and staff took Spark EV for a spin and were pleasantly surprised with its abilities.

“The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV 2LT is not just one of the best electric vehicles not named Tesla, but one of the best hatchbacks Chevrolet has built in years.”

Happy you enjoyed yourself, Seabaugh.

Take a closer look at the Motor Trend article written about “easily one of the most engaging electric cars in its class” here.

“The Spark EV is quick out of the hole, and it’s the easiest thing this side of a motorcycle to place in tight gaps in traffic. Parking usually isn’t an issue either, given its diminutive size.”- Christian Seabaugh
