Chrome and Style

Chevy dressed up the exterior of Equinox LTZ with chrome accents like door handles, mirrors and roof rack side rails. To top the chrome off, lower front and rear fascias feature bright accents to make sure your Equinox stands out from the crowd.     Chevy is always striving to introduce features that add safety to every facet of your vehicle. Available Lane Departure Warning reads the lines in the road and will visually and audibly alert drivers if they’ve strayed into another lane without signaling. Available Forward Collision Alert continually monitors the proximity of the vehicle in front of it. If the system detects a potential collision based on closing speeds, it will visually and audibly alert the driver. Rear park assist is available on 2LT and standard on LTZ. If you want to dominate tough parking, or just want to safely back up, the rear park assist will audibly alert you of hazards found on the rear vision camera standard on LT and LTZ so that you can reverse with ease.

    StabiliTrak and Security From all Four Wheels

    Equinox is equipped with advanced technologies, including StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control and rollover mitigation which is designed to improve vehicle stability on most road surfaces, especially during emergency maneuvers and difficult driving conditions. Equinox also has four-wheel antilock disc brakes with Electronic Brake Force distribution and available all-wheel drive. The Equinox on-demand all-wheel-drive system automatically delivers power to the wheels with the best traction for optimal grip, even on slippery or unstable road surfaces.

    OnStar Helps You Feel Secure

    OnStar Directions & Connections®† is standard for the first six months and includes Automatic Crash Response, where built-in sensors can automatically alert OnStar for help in an emergency.     Fuel-Saving Technologies

    Continuously Variable Valve Timing (VVT) adjusts airflow in and out of the combustion chamber under all engine speeds, which makes for better fuel economy and lower emissions. With Direct Injection, fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber in one of two ways; either before air flows into the cylinder or at the same time, resulting in efficient power generation and fuel consumption.

    Low-mass materials, such as an aluminum engine block and cylinder head, reduce engine workload and contribute to better fuel economy. An electronically controlled six-speed transmission allows the engine to operate at a lower rate of speed as compared to transmissions with fewer gears, which results in better fuel economy

    The engine has been factory-filled with engine oil meeting GM's new dexos™ specification, which has improved viscosity characteristics as compared to the previous GF-4 oil, contributing to better fuel economy

    Electric power steering uses an electric motor instead of an engine-driven belt, which results in a lighter overall workload and better fuel economy (4-cylinder models only)

    Responsible Manufacturing

    The transmission facilities are landfill-free. These facilities use a process to reuse, recycle or convert to energy all waste created in their daily operations, which conserves resources.

    The Ingersoll, ON, assembly facility, Warren, MI, transmission facility and Spring Hill, TN, engine facility feature designated habitat areas certified by the Wildlife Habitat Council, which provide ecological benefits.

    End-of-Life Recyclability

    After the vehicle’s useful life, 85% of it is recyclable. The majority of its components can be broken down and recycled, which conserves resources and reduces landfill deposits.
