The cargo box inner sidewalls are made from a high-impact composite — designed to resist scratches, dents and dings. The Midgate is comprised of composite material. While these materials are strong, they're lighter than steel, helping reduce overall vehicle weight.

With the cover in place, the tailgate up, and the Midgate upright or lowered, Avalanche provides a secure storage area — and the largest trunk in the industry.(1) In addition, you can lock or unlock the cargo box using the key fob.
