All-Wheel Drive

Available on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) provides added confidence in rainy, snowy, icy and muddy conditions. The system automatically engages when front-wheel slippage is detected, without the driver ever having to press a button.

In normal conditions, the on-demand AWD system delivers power to the front wheels. When conditions limit the amount of traction, the progressive coupling assembly, or PCA, will sense wheel slippage and automatically transfer power to the rear wheels as needed.

Once the system senses that traction has been restored, power will be transferred back to the front wheels.
