The 5.3L engine — standard on 1500 AWD Work Van and Passenger Van and available on 1500 Work Van. Benefits include:

• 301 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 325 lb.-ft. of torque at 4500 rpm
• High-capacity, internally balanced cast-iron crankshaft that features undercut and rolled fillets
• A composite intake manifold with equal-length runners that helps provide efficient combustion
• Cast-aluminum cylinder heads and a valvetrain featuring roller rocker arms and hydraulic roller lifters
• The 5.3L can travel up to 100,000 miles before the first scheduled spark plug replacement, thanks to iridium-tip spark plugs.(1)
• The Vortec 5.3L can also go up to five years or 150,000 miles (whichever comes first) before its first scheduled coolant change.(1)
