Silverado’s all-new interior is developed entirely around functionality. Centered around the needs of the driver, we intelligently integrated the smartest technologies into the interior, and the redesigned front seats are built for all-day comfort.

  • Our 5.3L EcoTec3 V-8 offers the proven power and dependability of our V-8 truck engines, with better highway fuel economy than a leading competitor's smaller turbocharged V-61. It combines tested technologies like Active Fuel Management, Direct Injection and continuously Variable Valve Timing to provide class-leading fuel efficiency3 with the peace of mind that comes with our reliable engine designs. No matter which EcoTec3 engine you choose, Silverado offers you a fuel-efficient and powerful option7.

  • DIRECT INJECTION

    Direct Injection monitors a number of variables to determine the precise measure of highly pressurized fuel to inject into each cylinder. The result is combustion that optimizes engine power and fuel efficiency7 while reducing emissions.

  • ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT

    In low-demand situations when full engine power is not needed, Active Fuel Management deactivates cylinders, effectively turning a V-6 or V-8 EcoTec3 engine into a fuel-sipping four cylinder7. When it senses the need for full power, AFM instantly re-engages all cylinders.

    The new Silverado’s cargo bed includes smart features that let you customize the way you secure cargo. Organize cargo how you want with four standard lower tie-downs and optional upper tie-downs that can be attached in nine different locations.

    2014 Chevy Silverado Frame

    COIL-OVER-SHOCK FRONT SUSPENSION

    Used on all Silverado 1500 models, this suspension is precisely tuned for improved handling. The front shock module has been enhanced to increase road isolation in response to even smaller vibration inputs.

    NEW HIGH LATERAL-RATE BODY MOUNTS

    The new shear-style mounts at the A- and B-pillars dampen side-to-side vibrations, while the new hydraulic mounts at the C-pillar dampen both vertical and horizontal vibrations. The overall effect is a smoother and more comfortable ride.

    LARGER REAR AXLES

    The rear axle size has been increased to handle the increased torque. The 6.2L V-8 engine, available this fall, features a 9.5-inch axle, and the V-6 models feature an 8.46-inch axle. A 9.76-inch rear axle is included with the optional Max Trailering Package available this fall.

    FOUR-WHEEL DISC BRAKES WITH DURALIFE ROTORS

    In addition to daily use, technologies like ABS, Hill Start Assist, StabiliTrak and Trailer Sway Control give Silverado’s brakes a workout. Our new Duralife brake rotors have been hardened with a special GM-patented process to provide long-lasting stopping power and rotors that can last up to twice as long as conventional brakes.

    TOW WITH CONFIDENCE

    The available Max Trailering Package offers impressive maximum conventional towing and is offered with both V-8 engines. New 7- and 4-pin trailer connectors are included in this and every trailering package. When it comes to hooking up, the available Rear-Vision Camera System with dynamic grid lines makes it easier to back up to the trailer.

    On the road, Trailer Sway Control works with StabiliTrak® to automatically apply the brakes or reduce engine power when the rocking of a swaying trailer is detected. Auto Grade Braking automatically downshifts the transmission to aid in going downhill. Tow/Haul mode always keeps the transmission in the right gear.
