Efficiency Or Performance: Reconcile The Difference Between Want And Need.

For truck lovers, the phrase "fuel efficient full-size pickup truck" is no longer a contradiction in terms. As America's first two-mode full-size hybrid pickup truck, the Silverado Hybrid4 offers fuel efficiency you just can't get with any other competitor – 20 MPG city and 23 MPG highway5. But that's just half the story. Silverado Hybrid also delivers the kind of legendary performance you expect from a Chevy truck: 332 horsepower, 367 lb.-ft. of torque, up to 6,100 lbs. of towing capacity (2WD)6, and up to 1,527 lbs. of payload capacity (2WD)7.

Whenever there's life to be done–and fuel to be saved–that's when you'll realize you need the 2012 Silverado Hybrid.

Exterior

What Makes a Silverado a Silverado?

You can count on Chevy to take a great truck and make it even greater. For 2012, the Silverado Hybrid has a fresh new look, but underneath it's still the Silverado you've come to depend on with smooth responsive handling and the StabiliTrak® Electronic Control System.

Bold New Look

For 2012, Silverado's front end has been updated to include a chrome mesh grille and chrome bumper for a sleek, contemporary look.

New Exterior Colors

For 2012 Chevy added new color choices, bringing Silver Ice Metallic, Mocha Steel Metallic, Black Granite Metallic and Graystone Metallic to the lineup.

Interior
There's One Place Like Home.

You buy a pickup truck for its capability, but you still like your creature comforts and Silverado has plenty: SiriusXM® Satellite Radio8 with 3 trial months, MP3 playback, and 60/40 bench seats on 1HY and front bucket seats on 2HY are just some of its features. All are part of the Silverado experience. Here's what else Silverado Hybrid offers:

Hybrid Power Flow and Instrumentation

Silverado 2HY Hybrid's power flow informs you of how the Hybrid system is currently functioning. Hybrid-specific instrumentation includes an economy gauge that constantly updates your fuel conservation efforts. There's also an auto stop position on the tachometer that lets you know when the engine has shut down and you're running fully on electric power.

New Interior Colors

Color choices now include Light Cashmere color with Dark Cashmere color and Dark Titanium color with Light Titanium color.

Leather Appointments

Leather-appointed front bucket seats are standard on 2HY models, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard on all Silverado Hybrid models.

Peace and Quiet

The excellent passenger comfort of Silverado has been maintained throughout, with a quiet cabin environment at the very top of the list. Silverado Hybrid matches its gasoline-only siblings in comfort and convenience—but attention to acoustic details make it much quieter.

Capability

Fuel Efficiency9 No Full-Size Pickup Can Touch

Silverado Hybrid offers 20 MPG city, which is unsurpassed by a V6 Honda Accord9. It also offers up to 18% better city fuel economy than Ford F-150 and up to 43% better city fuel economy than Ram 150010. Besides increased fuel economy, Hybrid's electrically variable transmission also provides tremendous trailering capability, enhancing smoothness and quality when towing: towing capacity is 6,100 lbs. with 2WD and 5,900 lbs. with 4WD models6.

What's more, Silverado Hybrid features two-mode advanced technology you won't find in Toyota Tundra.Click here to read more about fuel efficiency

Mode 1:

At low speeds and with light loads, Silverado Hybrid can operate three ways: electric power, engine power, or any combination of the two

Mode 2:

Used primarily at highway speeds or when driving conditions demand, such as towing trailers and climbing steep grades, it provides an electric assist in addition to four-cylinder or eight-cylinder power

Safety
Safety Before, During, and After a Crash.

There are three stages of safety, and Silverado takes every one of them as seriously as you do.

Before

StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System helps you keep on the road and in control. The control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual applications to help keep you on track. A Tire Pressure Monitor keeps a constant watch on the inflation level of the vehicle's four road tires.

During

Six air bags19 are standard in Silverado Hybrid: driver and right-frontal passenger dual-stage frontal air bags; head-curtain side-impact air bags for the front and rear outboard seating positions; and front-seat mounted air bags for thorax and pelvic protection. You're also surrounded by a high-strength steel safety cage and strategically placed crush zones to help absorb and channel crash energy in case of a collision. Click here to read more about vehicle safety

After

OnStar® with Built-in Automatic Crash Response11 is standard for the first six months on most models. In a collision, vehicle sensors can alert an OnStar Advisor who is immediately connected into your vehicle and can request emergency help be sent to your exact GPS location, even if you can't respond.
