Dress it up — or down, Spark has a standard and oh-so-flashy 15-inch 5-split-spoke silver-painted wheel but is also known for rocking an available 15-inch machined-face aluminum wheel with gray-painted pockets when you opt for the 2LT — that sounds like stylish city savvy, if you ask us.

Spark is five doors’ and 
four seats’ worth of “bring your friends along.” Enjoy sliding into spots where most would fear to parallel. Pick up all of your friends and enjoy still being able to bring your things along. This magnificent mover of folks comes with a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an available 4-speed automatic transmission. We’ve learned a lot traveling the world — how to have fun and get where you’re going. We know it’s important to have a 5-year/ 100,000 mile warranty†, so we threw one of those in too.

Small Engine in the Big City

The globe was our proving ground — and this engine came back tested and approved by people all over the world. It tackled some of the most difficult and demanding international terrain — city streets with hills included. But Hill Start Assist won’t let them drag you down by keeping the brake engaged for the split second it takes for your foot to move from the brake to the accelerator.

After you conquer the hills, you’ll love the fact that your all-access pass to the city runs on a 1.2L I-4 engine with Variable Valve Timing, which makes the engine run more efficiently by conserving fuel. Opt for either a 5-speed manual transmission or the available 4-speed automatic transmission. All of this pep — coupled with a stiff frame ­– better connects the driver to the city streets.

That’s why every Spark comes with technology that helps you keep in control, like the StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System. It comes with ABS and Brake Assist to help out when the roads aren’t as reliable as your car. And Hill Start Assist helps with those tricky inclines by staying put for a second after the brake is released to make sure you keep moving forward.

In the event of a collision, safety features jump into action to help protect you and your passengers. Front-passenger safety belt pretensioners tighten to help keep you where you should be. Spark is also equipped with 10 standard air bags†, because all of your cargo is precious.

Safety for Response — Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You

Should a collision occur, crucial information can be instantly relayed to the OnStar® command center via the OnStar Automatic Crash Response system†. At the Command Center, trained Advisors utilize GPS technology to pinpoint your exact location and can request that help be sent right away — even if you’re unable to respond. As all of this is happening, they’re beamed into your car, reassuring you and updating you on the status of the situation. It’s part of OnStar Directions & Connections®,† standard for six months on every Spark.

How Sustainable is the Spark?

Fuel-Saving Technologies

Continuously Variable Valve Timing (VVT) adjusts airflow in and out of the combustion chamber under all engine speeds, which makes for better fuel economy and lower emissions. Electric power steering uses an electric motor instead of an engine-driven belt, which results in a lighter overall workload and better fuel economy.

The engine has been factory-filled with engine oil meeting GM’s new dexosTM specification, which has improved viscosity characteristics as compared to the previous GF-4 oil, contributing to better fuel economy.

Responsible Manufacturing

The assembly and engine facilities are landfill-free. These facilities use a process to reuse, recycle or convert to energy all waste created in their daily operations, which conserves resources.

End-of-Life Recyclability

After the vehicle’s useful life, 85% of it is recyclable. The majority of its components can be broken down and recycled, which conserves resources and reduces landfill deposits.
