2008 TrailBlazer Safety Features

Antilock Brake System (ABS)
- The four-wheel disc antilock brake system (ABS) is designed to help the driver maintain steering control while braking hard on most slippery surfaces.

StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System
- The StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System helps improve stability, particularly on slick surfaces and in emergency maneuvers. Here's how it works:
- The StabiliTrak control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual brake applications to enhance control and keep you on track.
- StabiliTrak automatically intervenes when it senses loss of lateral traction (sideslip), understeer (plowing) or oversteer (fishtailing). In these situations, the system applies brake pressure and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to help the driver get the vehicle back on track.

Driver Information Center (DIC)
- This feature helps keep you up to date on various functions of your vehicle. 2LT, 3LT and 3SS models only.

Dual-Stage Frontal Air Bags
- Dual-stage frontal air bags(1) are designed to supplement the safety belt system in the event of a frontal collision and are standard in every Chevy TrailBlazer.
Head-Curtain Side-Impact Air Bags
- Head-curtain side-impact air bags(1) are designed to reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front- and outboard rear-seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. They are standard in Chevy TrailBlazer.

OnStar
- Standard in TrailBlazer, OnStar(2) with a one-year Safe & Sound Plan provides you with 24-hour access to helpful Advisors who can assist in a variety of situations.
Vehicle Diagnostics checks some of your vehicle's key systems, such as your engine, air bags and antilock brakes, while you drive. You'll receive an automatic email report once a month that includes your current mileage, remaining oil life, maintenance alerts and more.
And new Turn-by-Turn Navigation,(3) included with the available Directions & Connections Plan, gives you simple, step-by-step voice-guided instructions on how to get to your next destination. Push the OnStar button, and you'll never have to stop and ask for directions.
With Automatic Crash Response, an OnStar Advisor will attempt to contact you, inquiring whether or not you need assistance. If you're unable to answer, the Advisor will contact a nearby emergency services provider who will dispatch help to your determined location.
