29 MPG highway. The best standard highway fuel economy in its class. Better than Avalon, Taurus and Chrysler 300.

    0

With an estimated 29 MPG, Chevy Impala offers the best standard highway fuel economy in its class(1). Even the larger 3.9L V6 engine on LTZ offers an efficient EPA estimated 27 MPG highway(2). Both engines feature Variable Valve Timing (VVT), a technology that optimizes combustion, enhances low-end torque and high-end power, and helps control emissions.

Safety before, during and, thanks to OnStar, after a collision.
    0
    0

Chevy Impala earned the highest possible crash safety rating — five stars — for frontal crash tests(1). With thorax side-impact air bags for the driver and right-front passenger(2), you can count on Impala to help you stay protected in a collision. But what is really comforting about Impala is its ability to help you avoid collisions in the first place. Technologies like StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control and 4-wheel antilock brakes help you stay on the road and in control. And should the unthinkable ever occur, Impala also comes equipped with OnStar that includes Automatic Crash Response(3) standard for the first year. Built-in sensors can automatically alert an Advisor, who is immediately connected into your vehicle and can request emergency help be sent to your exact GPS location — even if you're unable to respond.

3 Always use safety belts and the correct restraint for your child's age and size. Even in vehicles equipped with the Passenger Sensing System, children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate infant, child or booster seat. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any vehicle equipped with a passenger air bag. See the Owner's Manual and child safety seat instructions for more safety information.

    STABILITRAK AND 4-WHEEL ANTILOCK BRAKES.
Chevy Impala is designed to help keep you on the road and in control. StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control helps prevent skids and slides that can happen in an emergency. The system monitors things like your vehicle's speed and side-to-side movement. When the vehicle doesn't adequately respond to your steering commands, the system brakes each wheel individually and decreases engine torque to help maintain a stable direction of travel. Antilock brakes help you maintain steering control by reducing wheel lockup during hard braking on most slippery surfaces.
