    The Two–Mode Hybrid system delivers seamless, dependable power on demand by using a combination of electric and gas engine power. You get plenty of muscle from the engine when you need it. When you're cruising along on the highway, the electric motor works with the gas engine to offer better highway fuel economy. Hit the brakes and you actually charge the battery through a regenerating feature in the transmission. And when you're driving around town at speeds of less than 30 miles per hour, Silverado Hybrid is able to run entirely off the electric motor, giving you fuel economy that no other full–size truck can touch(1).

Need to pull a heavy load? 2WD models can trailer up to 6,100 lbs.(1). You'll also get a payload capacity of up to 1,511 lbs.(2WD)(2).

    Keeping you safe is a full–time job. What's really comforting about Chevy Silverado Hybrid is its ability to help you avoid collisions in the first place. StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control along with four–wheel antilock brakes help you stay on the road and in control. Half–ton models received the   highest possible safety rating — five stars — for frontal crash tests(1). Add a high—strength steel safety cage and six air bags(2), and you can count on Silverado to help you stay protected in a collision. New for 2010 are thorax and pelvic air bags(2) mounted on the driver and outside front passenger seats.
