Why has GM elected to make this change?
This move is intended to provide our owners with an unprecedented level of value, confidence, and protection. As a result, GM is elevating the total vehicle ownership experience with the best, most comprehensive consumer confidence package in the industry.
It's just another part of an ongoing commitment GM made to improve the quality of all our vehicles. GM provides a transferable powertrain limited warranty on all new 2008 and 2009 passenger cars and light-duty trucks, plus Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation Programs through 100,000 miles or 5 years (whichever comes first). See a dealer/retailer for details.
What does the Chevy 100,000-Mile Warranty include?
In general, the powertrain warranty covers the engine, transmission, transfer case and axle assemblies on light duty vehicles as indicated below:
  • Engine
Cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, timing cover, oil pump/oil pump housing, OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets, turbocharger, supercharger and all internal lubricated parts as well as manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer and engine mount. Diesel engine coverage includes the timing belts until the first scheduled maintenance interval.
  • Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case
Case, all internal lubricated parts, torque converter, transfer case, transmission/transaxle mounts, seals, and gaskets.
  • Drive Systems
Final drive housing, all internal lubricated parts, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, axle housing, propeller shafts, universal joints, wheel bearings, locking hubs, front differential actuator, supports, front and rear hub bearings, seals and gaskets.
Is my Roadside Assistance coverage extended also? What is the coverage?
Yes, for five years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first), you get the added assurance of 24/7 Roadside Assistance Program. This includes Fuel Delivery so you can reach the nearest fuel station, as well as Lock-Out, Flat Tire (covers change only), Jump-Start and certain Emergency Towing services.
GM Roadside Service Program can be reached 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This service is provided at no charge. Roadside Service is available only in the United States and Canada.
What about Courtesy Transportation?
Courtesy Transportation Program is also included for 5-year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) on all passenger cars and light-duty trucks. Whenever warranty repairs are required, several transportation options and/or reimbursement of certain transportation expenses are available for your convenience at participating dealer/retailers.
What kind of deductible do I have to pay for all this protection?
There are no deductibles for covered repairs.
Is my vehicle covered from rust, too?
GM vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All Chevrolet body and sheet metal components have a limited warranty against rust-through corrosion for 6-year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your GM dealer/retailer for terms of this limited warranty.
I purchased a 2007 GM vehicle in March. Is my new vehicle eligible?
Yes. If you already purchased a 2007 GM passenger car or light duty truck, your new vehicle is automatically covered under our new 100,000-Mile/5-year powertrain limited warranty* at no extra cost. You will receive an updated warranty booklet insert for your glove box literature within the next several weeks. Your GM dealer can confirm this coverage in the GMVIS (GM Vehicle Inquiry System).
Can I purchase this extra powertrain coverage for my vehicle?
You may be eligible to choose from one of our GMPP offerings that can be tailored to meet your needs — including extended powertrain coverage. Please contact your selling dealer/retailership for details on the various GM Protection Plan programs.
Why are Goodwrench®-trained technicians so important?

They're also tested for performance and reliability. So no matter what kind of GM vehicle you own, trust it to the Goodwrench-trained technicians at your GM dealer/retailer. What does StabiliTrak® do?
StabiliTrak is an electronic stability control system that's designed to help improve vehicle stability, particularly during emergency maneuvers. When this system senses loss of lateral traction, understeer or oversteer, the system applies brake pressure and, if necessary, adjusts engine torque to helps the driver get the vehicle back on track.
