Why won’t the system recognize my USB?

In most cases, the Chevrolet MyLink† system will have no problems recognizing your USB drive†. However, there are some instances where software on the drive may conflict with software in the system. If this happens, simply use a different USB or try formatting your USB drive before you use it.

Why won’t Chevrolet MyLink index my music or download my update from my USB?

We recommend that you have no other files on your device when playing music or downloading any data. Other files could prevent the system from properly downloading an update or create issues while it’s indexing your music.

What different USB devices does Chevrolet MyLink support?

Chevrolet MyLink supports smartphones and MP3 players that are can be plugged in via the USB port. It also supports many different brands of USB flash drives.

What file formats are supported for songs and playlists?

Chevrolet MyLink supports a large variety of song file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC. It also supports the following playlist files: M3U standard and extended, iTunes, PLS, WAX, ASX and RMP.

Does Chevrolet MyLink save all of the songs to its hard drive?

No, Chevrolet MyLink† only allows you to access music through your connected/paired device. The system does not have a hard drive.

Why can’t I find my playlists?

Make sure your playlists are in the supported format. Your playlist will not work if the music in the list is not in the correct format on the connected device.

Why won’t Chevrolet MyLink index my music from my USB?

We recommend that there are no other files on your device when playing music or downloading any data. Any other files could interfere with the system properly indexing your music.

Why won’t my iPhone® work with Bluetooth Audio?

Due to certain circumstances, any smartphone or device utilizing Apple’s iPhone®† OS will play its audio over the speakers, but it must be plugged into the USB port in the center console to take full advantage of the Chevrolet MyLink system†.

If there is more than one Bluetooth-enabled device in the vehicle, which device will Chevrolet MyLink default to?

Chevrolet MyLink can recognize up to five different Bluetooth-enabled devices†. It will recognize the devices in the order in which they are listed on screen. If the most recently connected phone is in the vehicle, it will automatically connect to that phone.

If there is more than one device in the vehicle, how can I switch devices?

Chevrolet MyLink stores up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices.† Simply access your settings to see the list of different paired devices. Scroll through the list to find the device you’re looking for.

How can I switch devices?

If one Bluetooth device is paired, like a smartphone, and you would like to switch to a different paired device, simply go into the device list under Bluetooth Settings and select the Bluetooth-enabled device. Up to five different Bluetooth-enabled devices2 can be paired using the Bluetooth connection at one time.  You may also have one device connected through the USB port†.


I paired my phone and it’s playing music, but I can’t see any of my information on screen?

MyLink supports AVRCP 1.3 profile. This allows you to pair your Bluetooth-enabled device2 and see all of your song information on your Chevrolet MyLink screen. However, certain devices, like the iPod®/iPhone®† utilize AVRCP 1.0, and while the music will play over the speakers, information about the current song playing is unable to transfer.

Is Pandora available at no extra cost?

Yes, Pandora is available at no extra cost. However, if you would like to enjoy an ad-free experience, a Pandora One subscription is available. Visit pandora.com for more information.

How can I find my bookmarks?

Bookmarks are shortcuts back to a specific artist or song. Once you add a bookmark, you will be able to access that song or artist through the Pandora audio menu online. Simply scroll through and find the one you’re looking for.

Why can’t I access my station list, bookmark a song, change to the next track or use my Thumbs-Up or Thumbs-Down keys?

Safety is of the utmost importance when driving a motor vehicle. Therefore, certain features may be inactive when the vehicle is in motion. If this happens, the buttons will turn active again upon putting the vehicle in park.

Why can’t I create a station?

Currently, the Chevrolet MyLink† system only allows you to pull in stations that you’ve already created via the web or your smartphone when it is not connected to the MyLink system.

Why can’t MyLink open Pandora on my connected iPhone®?

Because the iPhone† uses a specific operating system, the Pandora app must be activated from the phone first to acquire the necessary information.

Why are there ads on Pandora?

Ads help Pandora pay the bills. Advertising support for free listener accounts helps cover the costs associated with offering a lot of great music for free. Where did my album art and Thumbs-Up and Thumbs-Down buttons go?

If you are an OnStar subscriber and use Turn-by-Turn directions, those directions will overlay any active screen on the right-hand side. This means that you may not be able to use the Thumbs-Up/Thumbs-Down icons or see some of the album art while in Turn-by-Turn mode.

Do I need to pair my phone to access my SiriusXM Radio?

No, SiriusXM’s channels† are satellite-based, so there is no need to pair your phone to use the feature. However, you do need to pair your phone to take advantage of the more advanced features Chevrolet MyLink† offers.

Do I need a subscription to use SiriusXM Satellite Radio?

Yes, a subscription is required. Chevrolet MyLink is just the interface that allows you to access the channels. Most 2012 Chevrolet models come with 3 months of SiriusXM Radio standard. For more subscription information and a complete list of channels, click here.

Why can’t I star a program, change to the next Stitcher podcast, or use my Thumbs-Up or Thumbs-Down keys?

How long does it take to acquire my stations?

Depending on the quality of your connection, it may take the MyLink† system about 30 seconds; once acquisition is complete, you’re ready to listen to your show.

Why can’t MyLink open Stitcher on my connected iPhone®?

Because the iPhone† uses a specific operating system, your phone must be plugged into the USB port† and the Stitcher app must be activated from the phone first, in order to acquire the necessary information.

What is TuneIn Radio?

TuneIn Radio is a free third-party app available for download in the iTunes® and Google Play™ stores that allows you to listen to live local and global radio stations — with music, sports, news and talk from all over the planet. You can search for artists, songs and sports teams to find out where they’re playing around the world, pause and rewind stations, add selections to your Favorites and more.

How can I use TuneIn in my Spark or Sonic?

If you have a 2013 or later Spark, Spark EV or Sonic equipped with MyLink™ Radio and a compatible smartphone, you can control your stations easily on the touch-screen display of your vehicle using the “TUNEIN” icon on the “SMARTPHONE LINK” menu. Data plan rates may apply.

What is BringGo?

BringGo is a third-party navigation app available for selected smartphones. When your phone is paired with a 2013 or later Chevrolet Spark, Spark EV or Sonic equipped with MyLink, the app allows you to conveniently display full-function navigation and traffic alerts on the 7-inch color touch-screen of your vehicle. Getting Started

The first step in utilizing some of the features of the Chevrolet MyLink system is to pair your Bluetooth-enabled phone4. Once paired, the system will download your entire phonebook to your MyLink system, so you can access every number every time you step into your vehicle.

Touch-Screen Access

You have several different ways to access the hands-free calling feature. You can access the system through the touch-screen interface. Simply, press the (A) phone icon on your Chevrolet MyLink's homepage screen and the system will take you to a menu. From there you can (B) dial, (C) access your phonebook,(D) see your incoming, outgoing and missed calls all at glance.


Call History

Once you have paired your phone with MyLink, you can access your call history and see your outgoing, missed, or incoming calls. Select “Call History” from the telephone screen, and then choose the type of call you want to display from one of the three buttons on the left side of your screen. Buttons are ordered from top to bottom as follows: outgoing calls, missed calls, and incoming calls.

Private Mode

If you’re on a call via your MyLink system, you can easily switch to Private Mode and continue you the call on your mobile phone. When you press the private button and your call will automatically transfer to your phone.

 

Mute Button

While you’re on a call, you can quickly switch off the microphone by pressing the Mute button. Press it again and continue talking to the person on the other line.

Getting Started

If you have an active SiriusXM Radio subscription2, Chevrolet MyLink1 lets you access SiriusXM’s 140+ channels in a variety of ways. To get started, just select the “Source” menu from the top of the touch screen. Then choose (A) XM from the menu.

The SiriusXM radio screen shows you the information about what you’re listening to, such as artist or show name, along with as the channel name and number, the station’s logo, and the station category. To change the channel, use the MENU/SEL or the CHANNEL LIST on the SIRIUSXM Audio Menu.

 

Make Favorite

Chevrolet MyLink lets you save SiriusXM channels as one of your favorites. When you’re on a channel, simply press and hold down one of the FAV keys on the touch screen. The channel name will appear. It’s now saved into the system.

Direct Access, Channel List, and Category List

You can find the music you’re looking for in multiple ways—type in the station number for Direct Access, or browse the easy Channel List or the Category List. In the Category List, channels are grouped by style of music, decade, and more. Just touch the category you’re interested in and tune to the station you want.

Stitcher SmartRadio

The Stitcher SmartRadio app is already loaded into your MyLink system, so you can access to your favorite podcasts, radio shows, and news without leaving your vehicle. Create on-demand stations online or on the Stitcher app on your smartphone or at stitcher.com, then pair or connect your smartphone with your Chevrolet MyLink1 to access all the top content providers from CNN, Fox News, NPR, ESPN, SMODcast, and thousands more from across the globe.

Getting Started

First, you must have an active Stitcher account and the Stitcher app on your smartphone. You can easily download the app from Apple’s iTunes App Store7 or Google Play. Once you pair or connect your phone, select Smartphone Link on your homepage and then click the Stitcher icon. When the device is connected, the Chevrolet MyLink system will give you access to Stitcher’s station list, beginning with your favorites. Press the MENU button on the touch screen and scroll through a station list, from Arts & Entertainment to News, Sports, Comedy, and Talk.

OnDemand

Through Stitcher you can access thousands of podcasts on demand. The latest episodes of your favorite shows can be instantly updated on your mobile phone with no additional downloading. You can reach these options through the Stitcher menu. Then press the podcast you want and enjoy.

Favorites

Favorites are just that, your favorite podcasts, stations, etc. Simply hit the (A) star button on your touch-screen if you’re enjoying what you’re listening to, and the system will add it to your favorites. You can also rate the program you’re listening to. Simply press the (B) Thumbs-Up button if you like a piece of programming; if you don’t, press the (C) Thumbs-Down button and you’ll skip to the next piece of programming. Over time, Stitcher will learn your preferences and serve you up shows that Stitcher thinks you will like.

Bluetooth for hands-free calling has been around for several years. Chevrolet MyLink1 takes that Bluetooth technology to the next level with streaming audio. Most devices can be paired to the Bluetooth system and if the device supports streaming audio, your music will play over the vehicle's stereo speakers, without ever having to be plugged in9, keeping your cabin uncluttered and wire-free.

 

Getting Started:

First you must pair your Bluetooth-enabled phone or device4.  If the device supports Bluetooth Streaming Audio, the music stored on the device will start playing over the vehicle's speakers. You can then use the enhanced voice control to manage it. Press the PUSH TO TALK button on your steering wheel and say, "Play Bluetooth Audio" or "Shuffle On," if the device supports that type of functionality.

Getting Started

First, you must have the Pandora app on your smartphone and an active Pandora account. You can easily download the app from Apple’s iTunes App Store7, BlackBerry® App World or the Google Play.  Next, as with most features on the Chevrolet MyLink1 system, you must connect your Bluetooth-enabled device.4 This connection will allow the system to recognize that you have a Pandora account and app on your phone3. Once this occurs, click “Smartphone Link” from your home screen and touch the Pandora icon. Once your device is connected, you will receive a message that Pandora is retrieving your stations.

From here, you can navigate your stations by pressing the (C) MENU key on your touch-screen. You will see all of your previously created stations, and you can scroll through them by touching the screen. Hit the one you want to play, and start listening to your own Pandora personalized radio station right in your vehicle.

 

 

Bookmarking

Like a particular artist you’re hearing? Chevrolet MyLink gives you access to popular Pandora features that let you bookmark a song or artist to your account. Simply press the (A) bookmark icon on the touch screen and follow the prompts to save it so you can learn more or purchase it at a later time.

Thumbs-Up/Thumbs-Down

Pandora gives you a feedback option so you can note whether you like what you hear. Each bit of feedback helps further personalize each station to your individual taste. When you like a song that’s playing, select the (A) Thumbs-Up icon. The system will store the information, and the icon will show a check mark.

If you aren’t wild about a track, simply hit the (B) Thumbs-Down icon. This will tell Pandora that you don’t like what you’re hearing; the system will add a checkmark to the icon and skip to the next song. That song won’t be played on that station again.

Quickmix

Make a connection

USB3 has become the universal connection standard. So it's fitting that the Chevrolet MyLink1  uses it to connect to the system in a variety of ways.

 

Getting Started:

USB is part of your standard vehicle package. You can find the (A) USB port located inside the center console. Whether it's a flash drive, an iPod®8 or a smartphone, you can connect any compatible USB device3 to the Chevrolet MyLink system just by plugging it in. Once plugged in, the system will read and index the music on it. Once the indexing is finished, you can control all of your music through your MyLink system. Plus, while your vehicle is not in motion, you can view photos and play video that you have stored on your USB device.

Picture & Video Menu

When your vehicle is not in motion, select "Picture & Video" from the main MyLink1 menu. Plug your USB device into your vehicle's console and your MyLink system will detect it automatically. Your MyLink system will display the images it finds in your USB drive or let you choose the video files you'd like to play.

File Types

MyLink can play video and image files in select formats. Images should be in .jpg, .bmp, .png, or .gif format. Video files should be .avi, .mpg, .mp4, .divx, .xvid, or .wmv.

Source Pulldown Menu

Access your picture and video files through the Source menu at the top left of your touch screen. Select "Source" and your menu options will appear. Choose "USB (Movie)" for video files or choose "USB (Picture)" for photos.

Slide Show

Turn the photos on your USB device into an auto-playing slide show. From the "USB (Picture)" screen, press the "Slide Show" button located on the bottom of your screen, second from the right. MyLink will automatically play all the photos on your USB. Just touch the screen to cancel the slide-show playback. You can also adjust how fast your slide show plays by choosing "Slide Show Time" from the USB picture menu.

Rotate, Enlarge, and Adjust Brightness & Contrast

From the "USB (Picture)" menu, you can adjust how your photos are displayed. Using the icons at the bottom of the screen, you can choose to rotate or enlarge the image. Press "Menu" to adjust the brightness and contrast.

Pair Your Device

To access many of Chevrolet MyLink’s1 features, you must first pair your device to the system.  MyLink is compatible with most Bluetooth®-enabled devices; however, to utilize some of the more advanced features, such as Pandora you must have a smartphone that runs on iOS8, BlackBerry®, or Android™ platforms.

With MyLink, you can easily access the music, photos, and video you have stored on your smartphone, iPod®8, or other USB device.

Access Your Music

To access your music, connect your music storage device (iPod®/iPhone®8, smartphone, MP3 player, or USB Drive3) to the Chevrolet MyLink system through your (A) USB port located in the center console. You can also connect and play music through most devices that can store music and act as a USB drive. The system catalogs your songs, and allows you to easily find them using steering wheel controls or Chevrolet MyLink's touch screen.

Music Menu

MyLink incorporates many of the familiar functions of your music playback device. Browse through (A) songs, (B) folders, (C) artists, (D) albums, or (E) genres. You can even shuffle songs and let Chevrolet MyLink create a unique playlist just for you.

Access Your Photos & Video

Turn your MyLink interface into a photo slideshow or mini movie screen. Your MyLink system will display images and play video that you have saved on a USB device. Just plug your USB drive into your vehicle and, while the vehicle is not in motion, quickly show your passengers snapshots of your last road trip or watch a movie you've downloaded.
