  • What is Chevrolet MyLink?

    Chevrolet MyLink† allows you to remain safely and easily connected to your music, phone, and information. This media system retains all of the capabilities of today’s entertainment units, including AM/FM/SiriusXM† tuners, CD player with MP3 playback, auxiliary inputs and USB inputs.† Front and center is a high-resolution, full-color touch-screen display that makes the new media system more usable, informative and attractive. MyLink combines Bluetooth® audio streaming† from smartphones with an integrated wireless connection. This connection builds on the usual hands-free phone capabilities already offered in most Chevrolet vehicles. The MyLink touch-screen, steering wheel controls and enhanced voice control interfaces allow handheld phones to be safely stowed while driving. Finally, MyLink allows drivers to listen to their own self-created stations through Pandora® Internet Radio and Stitcher SmartRadioTM.†

    Can I customize my MyLink homepage?

    Yes, MyLink lets you organize the icons so you can easily access the features you use most. You can customize multiple homepages and use the same icons across different homepages.

    Can I change the number of icons on my MyLink homepage?

    Yes, you can customize multiple homepages. Each homepage can have up to eight icons, and you control the number you want to see. If you only want four shown, the other features will be removed from the page. You can also deselect icons, which makes them temporarily disappear. If you want deselected icons to reappear, press the menu button at the bottom of the homepage and select “Restore Homepage Defaults.”

    Can I have more than one homepage?

    Yes, MyLink gives you the ability to have multiple homepages. This allows you to put everything you need at your fingertips, while features you don’t access as often will be on other pages.

    Where did my icons go?

    If you customized your homepage, you may have noticed that one or more of your icons are no longer on the homepage. If you customized your homepage, icons may be on another page. If you deselected any icons they won’t appear on any page. To get the icons to reappear, press the menu button at the bottom of the homepage andchoose “Restore Homepage Defaults.”

    Can my older Bluetooth® phone work with the MyLink system?

    Most Bluetooth phones work with MyLink. Older phones may not support all the features of MyLink but can still allow you to make hands-free calls. You can stream audio from any smartphone that supports Bluetooth audio streaming. And you can stream both Pandora® Internet Radio and Stitcher SmartRadioTM† if you use a smartphone that runs on the Android™ operating system. On BlackBerry® smartphones, you can stream Pandora® Internet Radio.†

    Why won’t my iPhone work with Bluetooth audio?

    Apple devices that are connected through only Bluetooth will be able to play audio through Bluetooth audio streaming, but you will not be able to access the full menu navigation and voice search feature until you connect the device through the USB port.†

    If there is more than one Bluetooth-enabled device in the vehicle, which device will MyLink default to?

    MyLink can recognize up to 10 different Bluetooth-enabled devices. It will recognize the devices† in the order in which they are listed on the touch-screen. If a device listed isn’t in the vehicle, MyLink will recognize this and immediately pair with the device that is in the vehicle.

    How can I interact with OnStar when my phone is paired?

    Pressing the Push to Talk button while a phone is paired with your vehicle will default to your paired phone. However, you can still reach an OnStar† Advisor by pressing the blue OnStar button on the mirror. Access OnStar Hands-Free Calling by pressing the white phone-icon button on the mirror. You can also press the Push to Talk button and say “OnStar.”

    How can I switch devices?

    If one device is paired, like a smartphone, and you would like to switch to a different paired device, simply go into the device list under Bluetooth Settings and select the Bluetooth-enabled device. Up to 10 different Bluetooth-enabled devices† can be paired. You can also press the Push to Talk button and say “Change Phone.”

    What different USB devices does MyLink support?

    MyLink supports smartphones and MP3 players that can be plugged in via the USB port.† It also supports many different brands of USB flash drives.

    Why won’t the system recognize my USB device?

    In most cases, the MyLink system will have no problems recognizing your USB device.† However, there are some instances where software on the device may conflict with software in the MyLink system. If this happens, simply use a different USB device or try formatting your USB device before you use it. For the latest list of supported devices, click here.

    Why won’t MyLink index music from my USB device?

    If there are files other than music files on your device, they can interfere with the system properly indexing your music. We recommend that your USB device be formatted before loading music and pictures and that there are no files other than music files on the device. Some USB devices have special security or encryption software; this software may prevent the device from being recognized. In addition, the MyLink system might not support that format of device (e.g., Microsoft Zune).

    Does MyLink save all of the songs to its hard drive?

    No, MyLink only allows you to access music through your connected/paired device. The system has built-in memory, but not a hard drive. The integrated memory is used to store the list of songs on your connected device. This way the system will remember the list every time you connect that device.

    Why can’t I find my playlists?

    Make sure your playlists are in the supported format. Your playlist will not work if the music in the list is not on the connected device.

    What file formats are supported for songs and playlists?

    MyLink supports a large variety of song file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC. It also supports the following playlist files: M3U standard and extended, iTunes, PLS, WAX, ASX, and RMP.

    Why is there missing information on my iPod/iPhone/USB “Now Playing” screen?

    MyLink uses song information from your device to fill in the blanks on screen. Make sure the music on your device is up-to-date and accurate.

    Do I need to pair my phone to access SiriusXM Radio?

    No, SiriusXM channels are satellite-based, so there is no need to pair your phone to use this feature. However, you do need to pair your phone to take advantage of the other features MyLink offers.

    Do I need a subscription to listen to SiriusXM Satellite Radio?

    Yes, a subscription is required. MyLink is just the interface that allows you to access the channels. Most 2013 Chevrolet models come with three months of SiriusXM Satellite Radio standard. For more subscription information and the channel lineup, click here.

    Are SiriusXM NavTraffic and Weather included in the SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription?

    SiriusXM NavTraffic and Weather are included as part of the standard 90-day SiriusXM Satellite Radio† trial period. After the initial 90 days, these features must be added on to the SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription. Additional fees may apply.

    How do I change sources via my steering wheel controls?

    MyLink lets you control almost the entire system from your steering wheel. To change sources from USB to SiriusXM for example, simply press the SRC button until you reach your desired source.

    Why does toggling the button previous and next not change my source?

    The SRC button is the button that changes your source. Although toggling it up and down will take you to previous and next stations, only pressing it can change your source. Toggling up and down will move to the next or previous favorite station on your favorite station list.

    Is Pandora available at no extra cost?

    The Pandora app is available at no extra cost. However, if you would like to enjoy an ad-free experience, a Pandora One subscription is available. Data plan rates do apply. For more information on Pandora® Internet Radio, please visit www.pandora.com.

    Why are there ads on Pandora?

    Ads help Pandora pay the bills. Advertising support for free listener accounts helps cover the costs associated with offering a lot of great music at no extra cost. If you would like to enjoy an ad-free experience, the Pandora One subscription is available for a yearly fee.

    How can I find my bookmarks?

    Bookmarks are shortcuts to a specific artist or song. Once you add a bookmark, you will be able to access that song or artist through the Pandora audio menu online. Simply scroll through and find the one you’re looking for.

    Why can’t I access my station list, bookmark a song, change to the next track, or use my Thumbs-Up or Thumbs-Down keys?

    Safety is of the utmost importance when driving a vehicle. Therefore, certain features may be inactive when the vehicle is in motion. If this happens, the buttons will turn active again upon putting the vehicle in Park.

    Why can’t I create a station?

    Currently, the MyLink system only allows you to pull in stations that you’ve already created via the web or on your smartphone when it is not connected to the MyLink system.

    Why can’t MyLink open Pandora on my connected iPhone?

    Please make sure the phone has the latest Pandora app, the phone is unlocked and no apps are running in the foreground (i.e., you can see the home screen).

    Where did my album art and Thumbs-Up and Thumbs-Down buttons go?

    If you are an OnStar† subscriber and use Turn-by-Turn directions, those directions will overlay any active screen on the right-hand side. This means that you may not be able to use the Thumbs-Up/Thumbs-Down icons or see some of the album art while in Turn-by-Turn mode.

    How long does it take to acquire my stations?

    Depending on the quality of your connection, it may take the MyLink system about 30 seconds; once acquisition is complete, you’re ready to listen.

    Why can’t MyLink open Stitcher on my connected iPhone?

    Please make sure the phone has the latest Stitcher app, the phone is unlocked and no apps are running in the foreground (i.e., you can see the home screen).

    Why can’t I start a program, change to the next Stitcher podcast, or use my Thumbs-Up or Thumbs-Down keys?

    Some Stitcher stations may not support certain features, which is why the icons are grayed out or inactive. If you cannot change to the next podcast, you may be at the end of a station list. Select another Stitcher station from the menu to continue listening.
