Saturday at Holley LS Fest East is often the biggest day of the three-day September extravaganza at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Thousands of spectators enter the grounds to check out an untold number of LS- and LT-powered vehicles, while drifting, drag racing and a burnout contest are also part of the festivities.
Some of these events overlap, which means that not only is there always something to do, but there is also a constant cacophony of engine noises, the scent of tire smoke in the air, and some very cool visuals.
For instance, as the sun began to set on Saturday this year, the Burnout Challenge was in full effect. The smoke wafted from the oval track to the staging lanes of the adjacent drag strip, where many competitors turned on their headlights to see both through the smoke and the ever-darkening sky.
The result was a moody effect which was the ideal image for a Wallpaper Wednesday download. Even better, multiple generations of Camaros and other vehicles are represented – a perfect snapshot of what LS Fest is all about.
