Winning is just the beginning

If winning was our singular focus, we’d be pretty satisfied. But winning makes us even hungrier, never idle in our pursuit of racing knowledge. Each advancement fuels the desire to find the next. When your company was founded by a couple of world-class racing drivers, you take a track-down approach to automotive innovation. And your entire vehicle lineup is smarter for it.

A couple thousand hours of engineering went into 2:59:43 of winning

To win the Indy 500, Will Power put in countless hours of hard work. And Chevy put in thousands more making sure his twin-turbocharged V6 engine was ready to be pushed to the edge. Congrats to Will and Team Penske on this historic victory. It goes to show when you set out to find new roads, hard work pays off.

Back on the track: ZL1 makes its competition debut at Daytona

Camaro expands its reach from track to showroom with the competition debut of ZL1 as the Chevrolet Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series car. Engineers took a digital approach to development, starting with the aerodynamically-advanced ZL1 and its two-door coupe body style. Hundreds of variations were designed and then tested using a combination of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), reduced scale and full scale wind tunnel testing until strict aerodynamic targets were hit, while retaining a lot of the design character of the original. The race car and production model also share a similar 90-degree V8 engine configuration and feature rear wheel drive, meaning that the ZL1 you can find at dealerships has a strong link to the one on the track. When that happens, you get the most advanced, authentic Chevrolet cup car ever fielded.

Keep up with our triumphs
