This weekend marks the centenary of the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. The race on the 8.5-mile Circuit de la Sarthe in northwestern France has played host to some of the most iconic moments in motorsports history. Corvette Racing has been a part of several of them.

The team has competed 22 times at the endurance classic since making its debut in 2001, scoring eight class wins with three different generations of Corvette.

This year, Nicky Catsburg, Nico Varrone and Ben Keating will pilot the No. 33 Corvette C8.R in the GTE Pro class in the race, the fourth on the FIA World Endurance Championship calendar. They will look to give the C8.R its first win in its final Le Mans appearance; GT3 cars – including the Corvette Z06 GT3.R – will debut in WEC next year.

Thus far in 2023, Catsburg, Varrone and Keating have won the first two events in class at Sebring and Portimao before finishing second at Spa-Francorchamps.

Corvette Racing represents just one of several General Motors programs at Le Mans this year. The manufacturer will also field three Cadillac V.Series R entries in Hypercar and a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 set to run as the Garage 56 entry.

Today, we've made a shot of the No. 33 Corvette C8.R in the paddock into a Wallpaper Wednesday download. If it looks this mean standing still, just imagine how it looks on the track.
