Hands-free driving

With an attentive driver and under proper conditions, Super Cruise can permit hands-free driving of the vehicle – helping you stay centered in your lane with smooth, automatic adjustments on compatible roads.

Adaptive Cruise Control*

Available Adaptive Cruise Control allows you to set a cruise control speed and automatically follow a detected vehicle ahead at a driver-selected following gap. If no vehicle is detected in your path, the feature works like regular cruise control. You can always override the feature and take control.

If a slower vehicle is detected ahead, properly equipped vehicles can automatically signal, change lanes, pass the vehicle and return to the original lane without the driver ever touching the controls.

Myth: Super Cruise is fully autonomous

Truth: Super Cruise does not make your Chevy self-driving. Drivers must always be ready to resume control. It uses LiDAR-mapped roads, real-time cameras, sensors and GPS to help make your drive smoother and more enjoyable on compatible roads.

Myth: Super Cruise is brand-new technology that hasn’t been tested

Truth: Super Cruise uses tried-and-true technology, including cameras, sensors and LIDAR map data. The system has helped our drivers use this hands-free technology to navigate more than 900 million miles of compatible roads.

Myth: Super Cruise encourages driver complacency

Truth: This is not true. Super Cruise features a Driver Attention Assist* that monitors and prompts you to remain focused on the road. If you become unresponsive to the escalating alerts, the vehicle can slow to a controlled stop, turn on hazard lights and contact an OnStar Emergency-Certified Advisor* who can assist.

Myth: Advanced driver assistance technology is only found in luxury vehicles

Truth: Not anymore. While Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems began as a luxury feature, it’s now available in more affordable vehicles. Chevrolet offers Super Cruise on many models, including Bolt, Equinox EV, Blazer, Tahoe, Silverado and more.
