2024 Silverado HD Is Refreshed and Ready to Tow
Updated style and tech let you take advantage of all the capability your pickup offers.
Nearly 100 percent of owners hitch up trailers to their Silverado HDs, and they can tell you: The truck is built to tow. And now, new technology available in the 2024 Silverado HD (arriving in the first half of 2023) will help make towing more convenient than ever.
The Details Matter

“We’re addressing the major pain points for folks who are towing,” says Steve Aiuto, the feature owner for trailering technology at General Motors. “The big ones really are visibility, driving with a large trailer attached, hitching, and managing the trailer itself.”
New or updated towing features include the available Transparent Trailer View† and Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert.†
With the updated Transparent Trailer View, virtually “seeing-through” a trailer won’t be reserved for those towing with a conventional hitch. This system now works with gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers and is compatible with gooseneck trailers of any length.
“When you have a large trailer attached to the vehicle, there’s a lot of stuff that’s hard to see,” Aiuto says. The Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert adds trailer functionality to the existing Side Blind Zone Alert feature, helping you be aware of what could be outside your view. It can help alleviate some of the mental strain that comes with pulling a large trailer, as does the ability to use available Adaptive Cruise Control† while towing.

A Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) alert system† is also offered on this new truck, which alerts the driver if the weight of the truck and trailer exceeds the GCWR of the truck. If the system determines the truck is too heavy, it can be used to get directions to the nearest weigh station for confirmation.
Of course, updates to the 2024 Silverado HD go beyond trailering. The truck gets a refreshed look and adds other tech throughout, among them an available 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment touch-screen with available Google built-in compatibility,† which includes Google Assistant, Google Maps, and access to the Google Play application store.
The interior has also been fully redesigned from the LT on up through the High Country, including real wood trim on the High Country. The dashboard is streamlined and simplified, largely thanks to the addition of the larger available infotainment display and a 12.3-inch diagonal Driver Information Center.
With so many updates, Silverado HD will put you in charge of your surroundings wherever you go.
