Start driving hands-free with Super Cruise Driver Assistance Technology

If equipped, Super Cruise®* is an available driver assistance technology that allows hands-free driving on compatible roads. While you’re using the feature, it helps prompt you to pay close attention to the road so you’re ready to take control.

Available on select 2026 Super Cruise-equipped models

1. To use Super Cruise hands-free and Hands-On Steering Assist*, you must first enable both Adaptive Cruise Control* and Super Cruise. If you see the white illuminated Adaptive Cruise Control icon and the Super Cruise icon in the driver display, then these are enabled and ready to use on your drive.

2. To enable Adaptive Cruise Control, press the Adaptive Cruise Control button on the steering wheel. You will see a white Adaptive Cruise Control icon in the driver display when enabled. To enable Super Cruise and Hands-On Steering Assist (available on select 2026 Super Cruise-equipped models) press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel. If you have successfully enabled, you will see the Hands-On Steering Assist icon in white in the instrument cluster. You can enable both features while in Park or while driving. These could still be on from your last drive.

3. The system will help you take advantage of the highest level of driver assistance technology available. When driving, the driver display will show the hands-on icon in white for Hands-On Steering Assist availability or the Super Cruise icon in white for hands-free functionality when on a Super Cruise-compatible road.

4. To engage the feature, Adaptive Cruise Control must be engaged by pressing the SET+/RES- button, which sets the desired vehicle speed. Adaptive Cruise Control is  engaged if you see a green illuminated icon with the set speed limit.  With Adaptive Cruise Control engaged (when you see this icon light up green) the driver display will either show:

a. (i) On select 2026 Super Cruise-equipped models , the Hands-On Steering Assist icon  in green, telling you that Hands-On Steering Assist is engaged and actively providing lane-centering steering assist, or

b. (ii) The Super Cruise icon in green and the steering wheel lightbar will lit up green, telling you that  Super Cruise hands-free functionality is engaged and actively providing hands-free assistance and you can let go of the steering wheel.  Never take your hands off the wheel until the steering wheel lightbar illuminates green.

On 25MY and older as well as select 26MY vehicles:

  1.  When Super Cruise detects you’re on a compatible road and in the right conditions, the Super Cruise  icon will light up in white in your driver display.

                a. On some vehicles, you might have to center your vehicle in the lane before the icon will light up. You might see the Super Cruise icon light up blue until you center your vehicle.

                b. When it’s safe to do so, press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel to turn Super Cruise on.

  2. When the icon and the light at the top of the steering wheel light up green, you can take your hands off the steering wheel.

                a. Keep your hands on the wheel until you see the light bar light up green. The light tells you that Super Cruise is active and is ready to take control of steering.

  3. On some vehicles, when you turn Super Cruise on, it will also activate some safety features in case you had turned them off:
