Planning an EV Route and Charging Along the Way – Quick Start
The myChevrolet Mobile App† can help you plan a route for your EV before you leave home. You can see how far you can go on your current charge status and find a charging station along the way. Then, you can choose to either view the route on your phone or on your vehicle’s center display using Google Maps.
Search for “myChevrolet” in the App Store† or Google Play™† to download the app on your compatible phone.
EV Route Planning:
- Tap the Map tab on the app’s Home screen to start planning your route.
- Use the Search box to enter your destination. You can enter a Point of Interest (POI), address or charging station, or select a location from the map by a long tap on map. When you find it, tap the Plan Route button.
- The app will help you decide if you have enough charge to reach your destination. If not, it will help you plan a stop at a charging station along the way.
- Adjust the settings for your trip as needed (add and remove stops).
- Open the directions in your phone’s navigation app. Or, to see it in the vehicle on your center display, use Google Maps.
- Tap the three dots (ellipsis icon) and then select “Save as favorite” to save locations to your favorites.
Find Charging Stations:
- Swipe up the Home/POI drawer to see nearby charging stations. Use the Search box to see charging stations at a selected location (e.g., if you’re traveling to another city).
- Tap the Filter icon (a funnel) to narrow down the search results (e.g., by charging provider, charger type and rate, availability and payment).
- Plan your route to the station, if needed.
- To enroll in Plug and Charge and Charge by App, tap the ellipsis in the top right corner and select the public charging services page. Then, activate Plug and Charge on applicable networks.
- You can also view Nearby charging stations or Favorite charging stations set up in your mobile app on your vehicle’s center display. Tap the Charging App icon to get started.
- Tap Routes to view routes you created in the mobile app.
- You can initiate a public charge with selected networks by choosing the charger and tapping “Charge now.”
- Tap Accounts to view the charge provider accounts you set up in the mobile app.
You can set up your home and work locations during the app setup process or through the screen search. This will make the features more personal.
