Chevrolet will cover standard installation of Level 2 charging outlet for eligible customers who purchase or lease a 2022 or 2023 Bolt EUV or Bolt EV , helping even more people experience how easy it is to live electric. In collaboration with Qmerit, the offer gives customers access to faster charging right where they want it at home and with the new available Dual Level Charge Cord standard on the 2022 and 2023 Bolt EUV and available on 2022 and 2023 Bolt EV a standalone charging station is not required.

Who qualifies for the Home Installation Offer?
Customers who purchase or lease a 22MY or 23MY Bolt EV or EUV.
Is there a different offer for a purchase vs. a lease?
No, both purchase and lease qualifies for the same offer.
What is included in the Home Installation Offer?
There are 3 options: Standard Home Installation, a Home Installation Credit, or EVgo Credit.
  • Standard Home Installation: Installation by a Qmerit electrician of 240-volt outlet and permit acquisition for customers with a standard home set up. If your home does not meet the standard home installation requirements you will be eligible for a credit of up to $1,000 towards a Qmerit installation of a 240-volt outlet and up to $250 towards permit fees.
  • EVgo Credit: $500 credit to use at EVgo Public Charging Stations
How does a customer select their preferred Home Installation Offer choice?
The EV Specialist will initiate the registration during the Customer Onboarding Process.
If a customer purchases/leases a Bolt EV and did not purchase a Dual Level Charge Cord, are they still eligible?
Yes, the Dual Level Charge Cord1 is not a requirement for an installation of the 240-volt outlet, although we do strongly encourage a purchase of the Dual Level Charge Cord.

Is there an offer for current Bolt EV owners to upgrade their current charger situation?
No, however, Qmerit can help match existing Bolt EV owners with qualified electricians and coordinate the process for a customer paid installation.
If a customer doesn’t qualify for an installation offer and there is currently not an EVgo station or they do not want EVgo credit, is there an offer for them?
No. The EV Specialist can opt you out of the offer.
Who is Qmerit?
Qmerit provides customers with a nationwide network of pre-qualified electricians who specialize in EV charging installations. Qmerit is Chevrolet’s approved provider for this program.
How long does the installation process take?
It depends on your local municipality and how long it takes to secure a permit. The installation time at your home will vary based on the complexity of the install. On average it will take between 4-6 hours.
If a customer initially selects EVgo Public Charging Credits, can they switch to a Home Outlet Installation?
After a vehicle has been delivered, the selection of EVgo Credits can NOT be changed to a Home Installation.
If a customer initially selects a Home Installation, can they switch to EVgo Public Charging Credits?
Yes. Throughout the consultation process, a customer may opt to cancel their Home Outlet Installation with Qmerit and can contact their certified Chevrolet dealer to initiate EVgo Public Charging Credit authorization.
Does the installation credit cover charging equipment?
No, charging equipment is not covered by the installation credit. However, if a customer does not wish to have an outlet installed, the Qmerit installation credit may be used towards the installation of a customer-supplied charging station.
How does a customer submit an EV Install Form?
The EV Specialist onboarding process will generate an e-mail to the customer with a link to complete the EV Install Form. It is recommended that the customer utilize their mobile device to upload photos and complete the form.
Can a customer change their selection after an EV Install Form is submitted?
Yes, up until the customer approves the Qmerit electrician for their installation, the customer can reach back to their dealer to select a different option (i.e. change from a non-standard installation to EVgo Credit)
If a customer selects a non-standard installation, how much of the cost are they responsible for?
Through Qmerit, GM will cover up to $1,000 towards the cost of the installation and up to $250 towards the cost of the permit. The customer is responsible for paying the electrician the remaining balance directly at the time of service.
Can a customer receive both an installation AND an EVgo Credit?
No. Customer either receives an installation (either standard or non-standard) or EVgo Credit. A customer may also decline any option.
Can a customer schedule an installation at their place of work instead of their home?
No, the address of the customer’s installation must match the address on the purchase/lease agreement.
If a customer opts to accept a standard installation on the main structure with an outdoor charger, is it safe to charge outside?
Yes, and the Qmerit electrician will ensure the outlet installation meets the code requirements for an outdoor installation.
How long is the Dual Level Charge Cord that comes standard with a 22MY and 23MY Bolt EUV?
The provided Dual Level Charge Cord has 22 feet of reach. Extension cords are not authorized for use with this accessory.
How is an installation scheduled?
After a customer submits their EV Install Form, a Qmerit electrician will review the form and customer will be contacted via email within 3 business days to confirm eligibility for a standard or non-standard installation. Once a customer has accepted the project scope and acknowledged applicable fees (non-standard installations only), the customer can schedule an installation appointment. In the event that permitting times are highly variable, the electrician may need to secure the customer’s permit first and then respond to schedule installation.
What happens if a customer is not contacted?
The customer can contact Qmerit at 888-272-0090 between 7AM – 5PM PST.
What if a customer is not qualified for a standard installation?
Chevrolet will offer up to $1,000 credit for a non-standard installation and up to $250 towards permit costs. Customer must accept credit towards self-pay install to cover remaining cost. If a customer declines an installation for any reason, before they approve the selection of their electrician with Qmerit , they may opt for EVgo Credit.
How does a customer pay for their portion of a non-standard installation?
The Qmerit electrician will initiate the payment process on the day of the installation.
Can a customer decline an installation after it is scheduled?
Yes, they can work with their Qmerit electrician to decline service. However, once the installation is scheduled, the customer is no longer eligible for EVgo credits.
How are electricians selected?
Trained and Qmerit approved electricians are matched to customers based on proximity and availability.
Are these electricians certified and insured?
Yes, and additionally, electricians are thoroughly vetted via background check by Qmerit.
Can a customer use an electrician outside of the Qmerit network?
No, but ask your Chevrolet Dealer about nominating an electrician to add to the Qmerit network.
Is a customer eligible to install a new outlet if they move to a new home?
No, this is a one-time-only offer.
Can a customer install more than one plug to accommodate multiple EVs in one garage?
GM’s Home Installation Offer only covers the installation of one 240-volt outlet. However, the customer may inquire with their Qmerit electrician about costs for a 2nd outlet, for which the customer would be wholly responsible.
What is EVgo?
EVgo is the nation’s largest public fast charging network for electric vehicles, and the first to be powered by 100% renewable energy. With more than 800 fast charging locations in 65 metropolitan areas across 34 states, EVgo owns and operates the most public fast charging locations in the US. and serves more than 235,000 customers. How does a customer receive EVgo credit?
The EV Specialist will initiate the registration during the Customer Onboarding Process via the Global Connect App. Qualifying customers will receive a personal authorization code via email from GM. The email is sent a few days after the EV Specialist registers you for the offer to the email address you provided during the purchasing process at your GM dealership. Please note that you can’t enroll for your credit if you don’t have your personal activation code. If you didn’t receive the email, please contact your dealer. Once you’ve received the email and personal authorization code, you’ll need to either enter the code into the link address in the email.
Do I need to have an EVgo account in order to use the credit?
Yes. If you do not already have an EVgo account, you will need to sign up for one for free.
What if I'm already an EVgo customer?
Enter in your personal activation code in the link provided by GM. Click “already an EVgo customer” and log into your existing account to load the credits to your account.
What if I did not receive an email from GM containing my personal activation code?
Your GM email containing the personal activation code might take a few days to arrive in your inbox.
Why do I need to put in a credit card number to activate my EVgo account?
Your credit card number is required for any additional charging activity above and beyond the credit. Your card will only be charged if you exceed the $500 credit amount.
How long is the credit good?
The $500 charging credit is good for three years from the date of enrollment. All customers must enroll within 6 months of the date they receive their authorization code.
Is the credit transferrable?
No, the charging credit is not transferrable.
What if I select the EVgo member plan?
Membership is optional and gives you access to EVgo’s lowest rates. Please see https://www.evgo.com/charging-plans/ for current pricing in your area. The $500 credit will not apply to your monthly membership ($7.99/month). Your $7.99 credit will be applied first and any additional charging within the month will draw from your charging credit at member rates.
How can I filter to include EVgo partner networks?
Within the EVgo app, simply select the filter icon to set preferences to “Show third party chargers” to give you the broadest selection of charging stations. For more information on partner roaming visit: https://www.evgo.com/ev-drivers/partner-roaming/.
I am having an issue starting a charge, what should I do?
Call EVgo Customer Support at (855) 509-5582. They can issue you a remote start for EVgo chargers at no additional cost.
My battery is low, and I need to charge. What should I do?
Search for the nearest charger in the EVgo app.
