How to turn Super Cruise on (Select 26MY Vehicles)

1. To use Super Cruise hands-free and Hands-On Steering Assist,* you must first enable both Adaptive Cruise Control* and Super Cruise. If you see the white illuminated Adaptive Cruise Control icon and the Super Cruise icon in the driver display, then these are enabled and ready to use on your drive.

2. To enable Adaptive Cruise Control, press the Adaptive Cruise Control button on the steering wheel. You will see a white Adaptive Cruise Control icon in the driver display when enabled. To enable Super Cruise and Hands-On Steering Assist, press the Super Cruise button on the steering wheel. If you have successfully enabled, you will see the Hands-On Steering Assist icon in white in the instrument cluster. You can enable both features while in Park or while driving. These could still be on from your last drive.

3. The system will help you take advantage of the highest level of driver assistance technology available. When driving, the driver display will show the hands-on icon in white for Hands-On Steering Assist availability or the Super Cruise icon in white for hands-free functionality when on a Super Cruise-compatible road.

4. To engage the feature, Adaptive Cruise Control must be engaged by pressing the SET+/RES- button, which sets the desired vehicle speed. Adaptive Cruise Control is engaged if you see a green illuminated icon with the set speed limit.  With Adaptive Cruise Control engaged (when you see this icon light up green) the driver display will either show:

a. (i) The Hands-On Steering Assist icon in green, telling you that Hands-On Steering Assist is engaged and actively providing lane-centering steering assist, or

b. (ii) The Super Cruise icon in green and the steering wheel lightbar will illuminate green, telling you that  Super Cruise hands-free functionality is engaged and actively providing hands-free assistance and you can let go of the steering wheel.  Never take your hands off the wheel until the steering wheel lightbar illuminates green.

Q&As

Does the Super Cruise system turn my vehicle into an autonomous vehicle?

No. Super Cruise can’t drive the vehicle or replace your responsibility to be attentive and ready to take control at any time. Even when Super Cruise is engaged, you must remain attentive and act as a supervisor for the system.

Are there any cameras or sensors I need to keep clean for Super Cruise to work?

Yes. There is a forward-facing camera and radar sensors on all sides of the vehicle that must be kept clean. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for the locations of these sensors.

If there is an obstruction on the road, will Super Cruise steer around it?

No. Super Cruise cannot steer to avoid any objects (including vehicles, animals, pedestrians, bicyclists, potholes, debris, construction barriers or cones). It is not a crash avoidance system. It is designed to help you stay in a single lane and works with Adaptive Cruise Control to help you keep distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
